Rooting for you!!
I quit cannabis and my dreams came back. I love dreaming, so even though I wish I could go out to a rec shop and get fucked up, I know that I was harming myself by doing that and remembering my dreams again made it worth it. I also quit alcohol recently and it was actually much easier (I was a bigger stoner than a boozer but when I quit cannabis I went for alcohol more because I was really seeking altered states). But all I've realized is that I have other addictions that need to stop too. I play way too many video games, and live a more sedentary lifestyle. I did when I wasn't sober, probably even worse. But like you said, I have to fill that void space with better habits and not just equally bad ones like being a lazy couch potato with every moment of free time.

similar story here...have been dreaming so much more, its been really nice for a change. You made a good point about the altered states...if there was no booze for me I would seek out a little weed or an edible even though I didn't enjoy it, but I was seeking that "altered state". What's helped me with the video games is having more of a relationship with this reality and treating it like my own video game. When I play now, I can't seem to play too often in the week because it feels like I'm taking away from the "reality video game" lol...if that makes any sense. That's when filling your time with better habits come into play.. You're doing well though from what I've read. Great introspection and awareness...lets keep moving ahead!!
I've been addicted to sugar, mainly through chocolate, for over 20 years. Thankyou for this

@@consciousanxiety Yes we tend to swap one addiction for another. For me it started as harmless in my youth but sugar is a monster

Same for me. It causes inflammation which gives me insomnia. Without it, I sleep much better.
