The wonderful thing about watching you is to see how slowly you are stitching. So many videos are done sped up so it makes you believe yo have to go fast. Many years ago, I took several FMQ classes where you were told that you needed to go fast. It took me many years to try again because the pedal to the metal mentality was something I could do.

Watching you work helps me learn that I’m stitching too fast- too impatient results in a lot less accuracy- especially with stitch in the ditch. I need to slow down!

This is a beautiful quilt and I am going to get there! But I have a little problem right now. My mom finally gave me the HQ Sweet Sixteen V2. She got bamboozled into buying it from some lady. It never worked until my husband and I put hours into it. We replaced a few hundred dollars worth of parts. Now we sew with it and it sews a beautiful stitch! However; with the tension perfect and everything looking and working as it should be when it comes to stitching; we cannot pull up the bobbin! We even know why. There seems to be a mismatch of timing between the position of the needle and the position of the take-up lever. When the needle is up the lever stops about 1/2-3/4 inch below the point where it should be, so the tension does not release. I can turn the handwheel a tiny bit, get it to release, and manually pull it. So I can sew and I can pull up my bobbin. But the other issue in the display is not right either! If I want the needle to stop "UP", I have to tell the display to stop "Down", and yes, vice versa. What the heck? We have spent hours doing the maintenance, checking the computer boards and the encoders, changing the needle position by little increments until it no longer sewed again. No luck. After finally finding our multimeter, we will be testing wires tomorrow. I believe there is a short somewhere and I hope there is. Surely the cable won't cost three bazillion dollars! LOL. Oh, all the boards looked great, and all lights flash correctly on the system start, BUT, during sewing D8 does not come on ever to indicate needle position. So yes we are shoulder-deep into this, and looking for anyone who might have suggestions as to how to proceed. Hubby wanted to replace the C-pod at first, but I refused because we were not sure it was the problem. We have replaced a lot of hardware and the maintenance kit was 200.00 alone. That is one of the lowest-cost items. It is 429.00 to replace the C-pod board, and I am just not ready to do that until we see if we have a short. Has anyone else experienced this? We would appreciate any suggestions or stories of what they went through. Any that might make a light go off in our heads, anything we might try, anything you "think" might need to be replaced, or even a friendly hug. We have hours into this and quite frankly I am getting tired of it all.
