Absolutely crucial for any powered-off Galaxy A12 (due to turning off or drained battery) that has a dodgy or broken power button, in order to be able to power/boot up the phone by selecting the cancel/restart option in download mode. Otherwise, there's no other way you can turn the phone back on.

What happened I was trying to reboot the phone because I can't remember the password the Google thing lock so I was trying to reset it and I can't get you with it because I can't remember

no work bro and no option recovery mode wipe data and factory data reset only show wipe catch memory data

@@root8802 same here. Can't get into download mode or recovery at all. This problem happened with a normal samsung update. And i've flashed several other Galaxy-phones with stock and customs roms through the years.

dumb question?. what is the point of doing this and what is it downloading??

@@Lenzwalters ahhhh..OK If I go to settings and scroll down to software update doesn't that do the same thing? I have done this a few times and takes a while with the android dude on the screen. Then it shows the new version with a load of letters and numbers. Is this the same? THANKS AGAIN!
