Protect yourself and your patient by learning how to put sterile gloves on the right way (and take them off when done). Maintaining sterility when using gloves helps to protect the user and the patient from microorganisms, body fluids and harmful chemicals. Knowing how to take them off correctly also minimize the risk to you and the patient while containing contaminants. This video takes you through the steps of putting them on successfully.
This video assumes you have already washed your hands prior to the application of gloves, but in case you need to know if it was a consideration in the making of the video - yes it was :)
Also, remove bulky jewelry (rings are best left at home anyway) and roll up long sleeves.

    A few critiques: don't wave non-sterile hands/objects over sterile field. you contaminated your gloves before you even started putting them on. also, when applying your L glove, the glove touched the one inch un-sterile border, further contaminating it. also, be sure to keep the right thumb away from the glove to prevent contamination, as mentioned in another comment, only use your 4 fingers of R hand to insert L hand into L glove.

    This is excellent - and brilliant to show 2 different angles for the glove removal. Have googled all over and every site -- from WHO, CDC, Hopkins, emt's, other RN's, Mayo -- ALL absolutely fail to actually show into camera exactly what a layperson needs to do in order to properly remove gloves in this Covid-Age. Ditto complaint about the handwashing sites (including the WHO and CDC 2-dimensional posters. We had physician in family so know what should be done but are gobsmacked that all those how-to's are deficient. Deficient means risk of spreading Covid or other virus. Thank you!!!

    If you cover up your watch with the gloves does that and terminate the gloves

    What risks are you thinking? I know nursing schools teach the removal of watches ... to wash hands and provide care to prevent skin tears... but if you have it on and your gloves cover it, the watch is not getting any contact with an unclean field

    the thub of right hand with sterile glove touched the left hand glove from the outside in both ways. it must be 4 fingers only

    True. The thumb of right hand after wearing sterile gloves touched inner side of the left gloves which is non sterile side of sterile gloves. 🥴

    How do you do this in a way so the cuff doesn’t wrinkly down your wrist? I keep following the steps but no matter what I do, the second glove on the non-dominante hand always wrinkles and touches my wrist

  • @NurseMinder

    @NurseMinder

    Good question- what size are your wrists? Just the non dominant hand does this - is that the first or second glove you put on?

  • @kvt1013

    NurseMinder I’m normally a medium for medical gloves, so I believe the glove size is correct. For me, I do the non-dominant hand is second

    If the dominant glove does not wrinkle down, then I suspect the other is just a matter of how you uncuff ... maybe?

  • @kvt1013

    NurseMinder that would make sense. I find the cuff on the non-dominant hand gets tight on my wrist which makes it unroll in a way that breaks sterility

    Tell me if I'm a liar. Did I not say anybody can be a doctor anybody can look at this videos and they say they are nurse the thing is are they doing what they're supposed to the lady sanitizer table she did not remove those things on the table when you're going to do something you have to make sure you wipe the whole surface the whole table from left to right and right to left for you see I'm not stupid I don't have the education but I know what being sterile is you do your job right you wipe the whole counter then you lay your gloves on the table then you put your gloves on she only wiped the table but she left an inch uncleaned see when you're going to clean the table you wipe it all completely then you lay your gloves down and then you get your sterile gloves on.see do you see now anybody can say they're anything just by the computer I know I can I say something because I've done it and I'm very detailed and very sterile. I do my job like I'm supposed to for you see I'm the one you guys threw away I have knowledge and wisdom you need to redo this video. Again I'm going to repeat myself did you not wipe half of the table.you did not pick up you're supposed to wipe the table first then lay your gloves and then put on left and right. Now who looks stupid now.
