How to purposely rust a corrugated metal fence in 10 min
- Make sure to buy non-galvanized corrugated metal as galvanized is corrosion resistant
- Spray metal with swimming pool muriatic acid

- After muriatic acid, spray with hydrogen peroxide. Keep spraying with hydrogen peroxide until desired color is achieved. Any kind of hydrogen peroxide is fine
- Later the metal can be sealed to prevent further rusting

Absolutely gorgeous. Thanks for sharing. I appreciate your tips (which was very helpful 😃) & the video. Again, thanks!

Best video I have seen yet! The key is the hydrogen peroxide. All the other videos explain the muriatic acid eats the galvanized, but then not much about the hydrogen peroxide rusting it up fast. Excellent video!👊

How often do you have to or should you reapply clear coat?

I am going to try this on galvanized sheets. Can anyone tell me how this has worked for them? I can't find the non-galvanized panels anywhere.

George Richardson You can spray with a mix of baking soda / water solution to neutralize the rust, let it sit for half hour then wash off with water. There are many products that seal the metal but I haven’t tried them. Everbrite and Rustoleum have some.

Did you have to clean off the packing oils first? Ive already sprayed muriatic acid and then hydrogen peroxide, vinegar and salt twice. Hardly any rust is forming and i went heavy with the muriatic acid. It definitely worked for removing the zinc. But from all the videos ive watched it is not rusting instantly like it should and the only thing i didnt do was prep them with dawn and a scratch pad. Is it really that important?

It sounds like you have galvanized metal sheets. Those are purposely designed to not rust over time. With non-galvanized metal sheets they should rust almost immediately after adding the muriatic acid and peroxide.

Benje Morrison Not sure because the fencing company got them. You won’t find these at HD or Lowe’s so you would have to look into specialty metal places.

@@joeygunzilla6878 It does. I soaked towels with muratic acid and let them sit on the metal over night. Rusted great. It's a little too orange for my liking so Im going to try peroxide to get it darker/more brown.
