I've been pulling my hair out over ratchet strap how-to videos that used too much jargon without explaining and just confused me even more, this is the first one that actually made sense and clearly shows the process step-by-step! Thank you so much!
You had the best instructions by a mile
I couldn’t do this to save me life thanks so much
I have seen many of the other videos, but yours stands out as the most complete and comprehensive. Nice work.
THANK YOU!! I’ve watched 4 other videos and this is the only one that worked for me!
This has been the most useful tutorial ever! I’m a female that had no idea how use this. Thank you!!
This really did it for me. I've been doing it wrong. Out of three people we where all doing it wrong. The trick is to pull up the slack first and then should only need to ratchet a few times like it says in the video. I thought it was like a spool, like how you treat fishing line, that you were supposed to ratchet up a whole bunch of slack, WRONG.
I’ve always struggled with these sets. This video was literally like a video game cheat code for me. Now I love using these sets. Thanks!
Just bought a package of Haul-Master ratchet straps, and have never used one before. This video made it easy. Thank you!
The one safety tip I would add is to have the ratchet on the passenger side in case you need to adjust tension while traveling you will not be on the traffic side of oncoming vehicles.
Best video on ratchet tie downs. Thank you
Great video. Very informative. It really helped me tackle my issue with them coming loose.
I’m trying to tie down my trampoline… had to pause to watch your video so I could continue with my project. Thank you so much!❤
Fantastic demo thank you somuch
Excellent tutorial tyvm
Thanks for the demo. I have several rain barrels and eventually a vertical crack appears, but leaks only when full because of the expansion. I'm going to gird one tightly with a ratchet strap and see if that helps. First a couple of layers of silicone caulk on the crack.
All the available ratchets on the market are still basic and simple. Tons of room for improvements. The open hooks on the ends are hazardous. If the load shifts or moves at all and the strap loosens; the hooks come unhooked and the whole strap assembly can fall away. Snap carabiners on the ends would be much better. I've been cutting off the hooks lately and adding carabiners. Also some sort of Velcro or rubber strap to bundle up the excess strap. And yes; I've seen all the KZread videos on various ways to store the excess.

See what you mean, Velcro to hold the extra would be great
Love these straps. Alway have a few on my truck!
Great straight forward explanation how to with slack with zip tie. Useful to people who bought their first truck or suv. Without sarcasm
Awesome. Thank you
Outstanding!
Good description for a beginner.
This is a good video Thanks a lot
Thank you so much for the video. I made a mess of mine. TWICE🤣🤣
Thank you
Nice 👍 thanks
thank you
I've used ranger bands to deal with the excess straps.
I'm thinking some kind of velcro/hook & loop strap for holding the excess webbing together, rather than a cable tie. No need to cut & waste the cable tie and just loop the velcro onto one of the hooks when not in use.
The ratchet strap was innovative when it was introduced. I use it mostly to install smaller tires like trailer tires
I guess I learned something today.
at 4:38 "pull it up and keep going." and then "ya hear that pop?"I'm not sure I understand - I don't want to break the lever.
No need to zip tie, there are numerous creative ways to secure the excess strap.
