    Hey Ross quick question Like in premiere we have the knowledge of how much speed up we are doing and compare it to our frame rates and sequence settings we get the idea about how much % we can slow our clips down Is there a way to do that in after effects where you know how much speed down you are doing?

    Really good tutorial! Thank you. One thing that I've never found: how to figure out how many percent video is slowed? For example in premier pro you can slow 100fps from 100% to 25%. Is there some similar visualisation in After effects?

    Hey william, yes you can still get good results in less than 60fps I use this technique in 25fps all the time. Just don’t expect to be able to slow it down as much as 60fps though. Thanks

    nice one thanks a lot but how to do a very progressive smooth speed ramping like slow and progressive fast and slow and again fast on a long drone clip like 30 seconds? thanks for you help

    Just create the key frames first, move them away to slow down and together to speed up. Then to get smooth motion use the graph and creat a half u shape to start slow and get exponentially quicker. Hope that makes sense.

    I tried enabling frame blending like you did here but nothing happened. The blue part above worked but the clicking that box once or twice…nothing happened. What did I do wrong?

    hey I really enjoy your channel. I did exactly what you did but I'm struggling to export the clip. It takes about 7 hours for a 30 seconds clip. Is that normal? Any tips to make it quicker? I've tried on a latest macbook pro and on my gaming pc, it's the same.

    Hey, there could be a few things going on here. The first and most likely is to check the file type of the video your using. If it’s uncompressed you can compress it before you import it into after effects. Then also check the export settings and make sure it’s h.264 and not animation. Those are the most likely issues. Hope that helps!

    What if you only want to slow a clip down in a certain part? I.e I don't want it to speed up. The ramping effect is cool.

    Just create 2 key frames for the start and end of the section you want to slow down. Then drag those key frames away from each other to slow them down.

    this is really helpful but my problem is with the duration of the clip.I try to increase the duration with time stretch along and then i use time remap it comes out as if its 1 frame per second

    Don’t move the 2 key frame too far apart otherwise it will be too slow

    Hi great tut but changing camera from AE to your face loses workflow. I'drecommend to show your face in the beginning and end of the tutorial (or small size chroma in a corner during the video). Thanks !!

    I can't find a tutorial for how to ramp from normal speed to slow motion smoothly or from a fast to slomotion speed ramp then ramp back to normal speed in Ae. I can only find how to go from fast to slow and slow to fast. I am puzzled no tutorials exist.

    Thanks for the tutorial. When I shift and drag the line, there isn't a square that dips down, it just stays straight. How can I fix this?

    Try selecting your keyframes and right clicking, then selecting keyframe assist and making them easy ease. This will set the to be exponential and not linear. The line should appear then.

    this does not make sense.... so why would we create a comp based of the clip that was shot with 60 fps? if we do that then we tell the comp it should be 60 fps, shouldn't we be using a 30 fps comp so that was it doesn't need to create new frames? instead have it use the frames its automatically deleting?

    Great. What if I want to move normal, then move fast, then slow down to normal again? The four Keyframes didn't work in time remapping. My timeline also doesn't allow frame blending. It's grayed out.

    Try putting it into a new pre-comp first for the frame blending. Just reverse the order of the keyframes. Keep in mind as you move 2 together it will speed it up and further away from each other will slow it down.

    @@FlatPackFX My clip is a composition, not a video. I am trying to blend the comp, with the nested video clip, but still doesn't frame blend. If you did a tutorial on the above said mentioned, maybe I can get it better. It's kind of hard to get it right.

    Hey, that is probably the issue there. The fact that for frame blending you need to work on the raw clip.

    Yes, just reverse the order of the keyframes. So drag them apart at the start and closer in the middle.

    Yes, you can flip the half pipe around. Just depends on the look your going for.

    i have literally been trying to get this done for hours... it looks pretty simple.. and very fast forward... however... for some reason it seems that my settings... or something is not working properly when I'm at the graphic editor... the curves.. and the way they are moving is quite not the same as in the video, so i ultimately end up with "sort of" a effect kind of looking the same as in tour video.. but not even close to it

    @@mauropitteri784 I solved it! If you go to the graph editor you have to set the diagram type (the icon next to the eye at the bottom of the graph editor) and check "Edit Speedcurve" (dont know if that the correct name, my language is set to german)
