How to turn your persimmon cuttings.into
Trees. Note persimmons are very slow growers. So this may take sometime to root. It’s important to know that we are experimenting this should be down in the fall winter months not late summer. For now we will try to keep our cuttings in a cool shaded area .

I tried propagation and airlayering on Fuyu and Tane Nashi persimmons but no luck. It worked on other trees such as apple, pears, plum and dwarf mulberry but not on persimmons. Dwarf mulberry tree was the easiest one to propagate.

Thank you for the video this is so helpful. We had our 4 year old persimmon tree destroyed to a stump by bears we hope we can propagate as many branches as possible. On a side note if one of my other trees looks like the leaves look burnt or light tan to green and we are sure how to fix it, it just grew fruit recently can we wanna keep it alive.

Hello ozztam I m be honest with you no if your going to start cuttings it’s best in the fall. However it will very hard to root the cuttings unlike airlayering air laying does work. Thank you for stopping by

That’s truly understandable I have failed numerous time in the pass the best time to do it is early spring leadfarmer73 has a lot info about air layering. As well other KZreaders I would say start with a tree that your not obsessed with and go from there I will posted content on Tuesday on how I failed
