I did not water it after planting because the soil that I used is already moist and I also placed the plant in shade. I only sprayed a little water to keep it moist when the soil got really dry. But, if you place it outdoor in direct sunlight, you can water it after planting.

In this video, it is all done in shade for the sake of convenience on my part taking videos from time to time. But, I have done this in full sun in the garden. I just don't like taking videos in the garden because it is usually very hot, it's an open rooftop garden. As for the watering, I just keep the soil damp or a little moist to encourage rooting.

I'm not sure you can help me, it might be to late. My plant is in a big pot that looks like a huge coffee mug. The plant is big. I looked this morning and noticed it leaning to the edges of the pot, when I looked the leave are all loose and there is a liquid type in the middle of it, I can literally pick the leaf right off as if they are just sitting. If it wasn't for the edge of this tall pot my plant would probably have falling to pieces, yet the leaves look pretty healthy, I didn't even notice. I also see tiny drops of liquid coming out of the leaves. Is there a way to save it? I don't even know what happened. It was a beautiful plant. :( I hope you see this in time I hate to toss my plant. Thank you!

I am sorry to hear about your Aloe Vera. Leaves may look healthy but they are already detached from the trunk. It looks like the leaves in this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/pGpoyK5-nbyWqbg.html The only way to check if you can still save your plant is to remove it from the pot. Check if you can still use the upper part for planting as a cutting or check if you can still save the root for planting. Like what I did in this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/c5uLro-ugcesYto.html

@@TheAloeVeraGarden Yes. I watched your video, and decided to check further..it was exactly like that but worse, the stem was just gone, the leaves just fell right off when I took it out, I couldn't even find the stem or roots :( I don't understand what I did wrong it looked fine a week ago. Can you tell me what I did wrong please, I've never had this problem before. I'm sad I had to toss it, it got so big, maybe half the size of yours but very beautiful and grew so tall with big beautiful leaves. :) I really appreciate your videos, the time and care you have to save a plant is truly amazing. Please tell me what I did wrong so I don't do it again :( Thank you so much...now I'm off to buy a new one :(

I feel sad too that it had to happen. I know it's easy to grow Aloe Vera but to grow them big will take time - a time enough for you to get attached to the plant. I feel sad too every time it happened to my plants even though I still have so many left in the garden. Based on my experience, Aloe Vera rotting often happens during wet season, though sometimes (rarely) it will also happen during dry season. But it doesn't mean it is caused by water. There is a fungus that thrives during wet season or wet environment and feast on rich soil and eventually the Aloe Vera plant. Most of my plants that rots are those with very rich soil like compost - specially fresh compost. That is why I stopped feeding my Aloe Vera with compost. I just use ordinary soil that you can get from the yard. I also have a vegetable garden on the other side. Every time I harvest my vegetables, I'll make use of their soil and put it in my Aloe Vera. You can also buy fungicide for your soil, though I am not using it because I consume my Aloe Vera for juicing - I just want to be safe from chemicals. Keeping the soil dry also helps, but not too dry. Aloe Vera is 90% water so it can sustain itself even if you rarely water it. I hope you can find a new Aloe Vera. If you're just near me, I could give you one... but again, that attachment you build with the plant is different. It can never be replaced with another plant even if they are the same Aloe Vera. Thank you very much for watching my videos.

@@TheAloeVeraGarden I appreciate you answering, I too wish I was closer, omg your plants are amazing! I'm wondering if you hit on something. My plant was growing so fast and big, indoor by the way, that I got this really neat pot that looks just like a giant coffee mug, go figure it says GROW on it :( Lol I bought new soil, was advised to get aloe soil " something I've never seen before, very light and fluffy and I mixed it with compose but its been 2 months..could it take that long to kill it? I was so upset when I lifted it up and it just fell to pieces and had a bad smell. I've never killed one before and also just used regular potting soil. But it was so pretty I wanted to do what was best.

Aloe has over 400 species and I think some aloes are so different than others. That is why aloe soil doesn't work on all aloes, I guess. Most aloes - the smaller ones are treated similarly with other succulents given aloe soil. Some bigger aloes are planted in their yards as ornamental, growing and thriving on ordinary soil. Aloe Vera is cultivated in farms by hectares, I don't believe they are given aloe soil. While it is ok to use aloe soil, just avoid using compost soil for now to be safe. Ordinary soil will do. Aloe Vera is not very picky when it comes to soil. Plant a new Aloe Vera again.
