Badass. I spent all morning looking for something like this. Everywhere else I looked was convoluted. Much appreciated.

@@steinisfinance7979 Hey! Thanks for replying to my comment. I'm a contractor (design-build, I do everything, a lot of welding in particular). I'm actually building a sheet for project management functionality that I haven't seen anywhere else, and I've looked at all the different CRMs, all the contractor apps, Basecamp, everything. I'm going to create a startup to make the construction industry better. This will be part of it! I'm planning to convert my sheet to an app. I don't plan on being the best developer or engineer in the world, more the big picture person, but I love to get my hands dirty and need to know enough coding etc. to be able to work and talk shop with anyone that might work for me eventually. This is going to be exciting. I really appreciate people like you putting content out. Thanks so much for this video!

So as someone from germany I need to input it this way because with the comma it doesn't work (maybe because we use comma for decimal numbers instead of a point) =SPARKLINE(B2;{"charttype"\"bar"; "max"\C2})

Theoretically could you make a progress bar for potential employees? Filled out Resume>Potential Candidate>Call back>interview>hired ..? Depending on what step they were on, it would show 20%/40%/60% (or more/less depending on how many steps)

Function SPARKLINE parameter 2 option max expects number values. But '' is a text and cannot be coerced to a number.

is it possible to fill the remaining side of the progress bar that is left empty with a different color bar as well?

  • @steinisfinance7979

Yes no problem! You use "color2" instead of "color1". So you would add to the formula ;"color2","yourcolorhere". Let me know if it works for you!

Amazing video! Thanks! I'm still looking for a way to put the value (in your video "current") in de same cell... I know it is possible in Excel but in Google Sheets ??

Thank you for the comment! I haven't found a solution for that yet im afraid. I think the difference is that in Excel you use conditional formatting for the cell but in Google Sheets you have to use the formula bar to use the function. I will get back to you if I find a solution! 😀

Fantastic tutorial, the only one I could find that helped. But now I'm running into an error message where I haven't input my data yet. Is there a way to ignore if the cells are empty? I can't seem to wrap my head around it. I have =SPARKLINE(D2,{"charttype","bar";"max",E2;"color1",IF(D2
