So if I were to buy a used OEM remote, would I be able to customize it and also one of my issues is since buying the generic key and having it caught at the shop it was done at when they cut it and programmed it. My valet key got kicked out and is no longer recognized either.

Brah, what if I only have one new fob, so after I do it right, and hear the door lock, what do I do if I don't have another fob to program? What locks/stores the programming that I just did for only 1 fob?

I noticed in the video the separate fob may not be original equipment on the Acura shown. I have an 2009 Acura CSX and am looking for a separate fob (no key attached). There don't seem to be any aftermarket ones specifically for my car. Does anybody have recommendations of a fob which will work on the 09 CSX? Perhaps from another model Acura, or another year CSX?

That's my question also. I bought the car with driver 2 key. Bought second key at acura $150. They made the key but wanted to change me another $150 to program it. The key for driver 1 sit in a drawer since about a year and a half. Fits car but buttons don't do anything or car won't start when I turn the key. Needs programming for driver 1

You still need to program the key to start the car this only programs the lock and unlock buttons

Nevermind i just had to program my OEM keyfob first and then the aftermarket one i just bought... weird but they both work now only thing is it doesnt show up as driver 1 anymore but thats it

Unfortunately can’t get it to work on a 2009 TL. The 2009 doesn’t have a traditional key slot like yours but I tried the equivalent approach and it doesn’t work

No it doesn't work for 2009-2014 Acura tl turnkey because for that year you don't need to program the remote separately that year when you program the key with a computer it programs the key and buttons all at one time so no need to program the remote .

I tried it again and it worked the second day. I didn't do anything different. It just worked the first time on the second day. What is missing in your video is the fact that the new key fob will not start the car without the transponder. Huge missing part. Only way to program that is to pay a dealer $200+.

U said lock but u where pressing unlock so I did it pressing unlock cause that's what u said so I could use my keyless settings cause they wont work and didn't work so I did it with the unlocked button and it unlocked the car on the 4th press but then I take it out and it doesn't work I did it both ways multiple times I'm know I'm doing it rite cause it unlocks the car on 4th press but now my key is useless.... what do I do know ?
