Omg so amazing subscribed and liked!! Please make part 2 soon! I am trying to Startup an EBM/Aggrotech project here in Florida since it's almost a dead genre around here and these tutorials are helping me alot! I just purchased Ableton live 11 suite today (was using 10) and I am about to purchase Serum now after watching your videos (was just using Massive and Vanguard). I feel like I kinda got stuck just on Vanguard mostly since it has EBM sounds out of the box but these videos are helping me brake away from relying on that one plugin!

@@MarcinRajski- For sure!! I have watched and looked into MANY EBM drum video's/alternatives but so far this one is the best "in your face" one I can find. I just purchased Ableton live 11 suite so trying to make a huge list of VST's I will be purchasing on Cyber Monday this year and you certainly helped me narrow down the scope of some of my top next "go-to" plugins I will be keeping my eye out for. I feel your ears are better than mine because when using Ableton and adding more harsh EBM tracks I just keep lowering the master volume for no clipping and the song always turns out to quiet in the end so this was extremely educational advice on how to keep the tracks "boomy/loud" without clipping. It made me understand I need to learn more about how to eq stuff properly because that is something I almost never do being that I was never taught how to properly do so. I am going to give spectrum and nova a try and try to find more tutorials on how to get rid of "resonance/mud" because I feel that is a must-have tool as a producer that I highly lack. I can't just keep lowering master volume because my songs keep turning out to "weak" in the volume department unless you crank them way up and with EBM it needs to be in your face without having to put your speakers on max. I still have much to learn!!

​@@semitones9106 Aw yes, black friday. I think I will hunt for Ableton Live Suite. Plus MAYBE some extra stuff from D16 Group, they have very cool plugins, along with iZotope. Regarding your EBM stuff - in general, a full-sounding track needs good sound design, combined with right EQ and sounds layering if needed. Currently, I'm working on Klangkuenstler type techno, which definitely will be a complex work showing all these three "ingredients" in action. I skimmed through my channel and I can suggest you watching another of my EQ tutorial - here's the link: kzread.info/dash/bejne/m4uEmMubd9baiZc.html If you need more guidance regarding your productions, then I can suggest you taking a online lesson with me, where I could work on your music and improve your Ableton projects. @@MarcinRajski- thanks so much !! Izotope, serum, SGA1566, Spectrum and Nova are the next plugins I plan on investing into. Sadly I was using a pirated version of Ableton 10 suite since its launch since my favorite way to write music is on an Ableton Push 2 but I could not afford both the software and the hardware so I chose the naughty method of purchasing the hardware and pirating the software. I feel much better now that I am finally running a legal version of Ableton 11 suite as they deserve it especially for how long I have been using it. I will go and check the video you linked me right now and study it even further! Once I acquire more of the plugins I mentioned above I will surely try hitting you up for lessons on helping me with some finished tracks ( as long as the price is somewhat reasonable.) To help with the mixing and mastering portion of the tracks. Besides Serum, Massive, iZoatope, SGA 1566, Spectrum and Nova are there any other plugins I will need to acquire for you to guide me further on lessons? As for reverb, I use Valhalla vintage verb instead of Magnus, but plugins/DAWS are extremely expensive for a college student such as myself so just give me a list of MUST haves before we start doing any lessons, please!! After I aquire the "Must have" plugins I will gladly be messaging you for private screen sharing/webcam lessons to help me better understand how to produce the EBM/Arrgotech style of music I am going for!

From the plugins I'd suggest you trying out as well VoS Rescue MK2 for easy stereo image manipulation, TAL Reverb 4 for a transparent reverb, VoS epicVerb for a rich, "metallic" reverb, iZotope Ozone Elements for their cool limiter (if Ozone Elements isn't free, try some simpler plugin like LoudMax), Audio Assault Head Crusher Free Edition for (sometimes) very useful saturation and D16 Frontier for a simple and good limiter. WOW. This is insanely good! 🤟🏻 For this kind of kicks, including the sub bass, what is the typical dynamic range? And what is the usual dynamic range for premasters of this type of tracks?

Hi! The kick and sub bass played together give -5.7LUFS with a true peak of 0.1dB. This track of mine: soundcloud.com/theunderground23/francesco-lolli-ghost-mirror-dr1l-remix has -7.9 integrated LUFS with the same true peak. The kick drum in my track has far more dynamics - and that's hearable. The most flat sound I have met is in this track: soundcloud.com/ephyum/black-clouds-vip-forthcoming-on-c4c-ltd . -2.6LUFS integrated. It makes no sense to make your tracks sound this flat if you ask me.

Hi! Mainly I use Vengeance Essential Club Sounds Vol. 1 + Ableton's Stock Library. Sometimes I create my own kicks with DS Kick synth from Ableton or Xfer Serum too. Although Fruity Kick is good as well!

You can use a compressor instead of the clipper right?

In general - no. These two tools work in a different way. When something is too loud for the compressor (or limiter), the compressor just attenuates the signal. But when something is too loud for the clipper, the clipper distorts the waveform to keep any peaks below the threshold. How do you process these 2 samples differently using the same drum rack ?

Hi! What exact moment we are talking about? The kick sample and the "metal" sample are added on separate pad in the Drum Rack if that's what you mean. And each pad can be processed individually or/and grouped.
