How to price your work for metal polishing or detailing
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
One of the most important parts of your business is pricing. It is one of my most asked questions. I truly hope this video answers a lot of questions on how to set your pricing. Do what makes sense for you. You don't have to use my pricing or someone elses pricing. Set pricing that works for you and your area and adjust as you see fit along the way. Most customers will understand if your pricing fluctuates as you learn and grow.
If you are looking for grinders or cords and stuff we use in the shop that aren’t available on goshineon.com all of these products used in this video are available at www.amazon.com/shop/metalpoli... or by the individual links.

Thank you for explaining this. I’ve been thinking about doing a little polishing for something do since I just got out of High School. And I’ve been trying to figure out how I should charge. This was really helpful Evan.

Thank you very much Evan, I myself have been a driver/owner-operator/ truck owner for 30 yrs. I've been in the loop of driving & owning trucks that being polished was just the way of life...!! Lol I hauled Hay & Cattle for 20yrs then pulled & owned Reefers for the remaining time periods...!! Through out my 30yrs in the industry I've always had a rag in my hand everytime my truck stopped... now that I'm almost 50yrs old I'm trying to learn better & easier ways too polish...!! So, with that being said your video's are a tremendous help to me and I really appreciate all that you do & share because, there's not a whole lotta peeps out there that just volunteer their "WISDOM".....!! I am just like yourself in the aspect of sharing my knowledge of things...!! I think that is totally awesome 👌 that shows that your a real honest & decent person....!! I lived in MN for 17yrs but now im back in California.....I will put your name out there too all my fellow truckers that I know & I know a lot of them.. !! Lol I also, unfortunately have had too slow down (Trucking) for various reasons & I'm actually doing a lot more polishing now too make ends meet & I see you have your own products out....can you please shoot me a E Mail at Bullhauler507@gmail.com Of your products please & thank you.....

Thank you for all the kind words and for all the compliments. I am just a guy trying to help the industry before I leave this world. Polishing is one thing that I don't think will ever die. So many people like myself just love shiny things. LOL Thank you for watching and supporting my channel. If you ever need anything feel free to hit me up on my cell. 9209790386

I like the logic. Remember that on some of the jobs you think you lost, you will usually make it up because if the did a goof job, the client will return. I have been going to the same guy for 20 years. If he took a hit on one truck he should be making it up with the rest of the fleet. Plus I sent him over more clients. I enjoy your videos. I polished for fun back in the day. I know it's hard work and worth the money.

Almost everything I do I pencil out like that. Wether it is polishing, mechanic work, trucking or custom farming. Hourly rates in my area are 100-150 for most everything.

I charge by the piece I just need to get faster on tanks. I can knock wheels out fast but I work a full time job and polishing was just a little side gig that is now becoming full time too. Always tired 🤣🤣

I believe I said some people don't so any sanding but I do believe there are people that do not anything lol.
What would you charge for 24x14 Specialty Forged's pretty much brand new wheels just need a good touch up though. Can't figure out what to charge since I've never done this before. I've polished wheels before on semi's just not wheels like this
@lmlscott7195
Жыл бұрын
You probably figured this out already, but keep the same mindset. I like $50 a wheel (20s, 22s) and then up charge for bigger wheels (24s and up)
Youre a genius lol

We do have the polishers corner podcasts you can check those videos out here.
So I’m wondering. What if you have a 120 gallon fuel tank that has been sprayed with acid once a month for 5 years, can you still sand and polish it in 30 minutes.
@EvanStegerMetalPolishing
3 жыл бұрын
LOL Hell no. It took 5 years to get that rough. It won't get anywhere near nice in 30 minutes. But if you educate your customers that it took 5 years to get that rough and you do a half sanding this time and get them to start coming 2-3 times a year you will do less sanding each time and eventually no sanding at all.

If I can work at McDonald’s and make $15 or I can work ten times harder polishing metal at $10 an hour then you are definitely losing money. You could have better quality of life working at McDonald’s than polishing trucks killing your body. By that it’s the definition of losing money.
