They finished digging my basement today. I’m here trying to see if I overpaid. He dug a 70x 70 walk out hole 7 feet deep on one end to nothing on the other. Charged me $7k. Maybe I did ok.

How do you break those numbers down on an estimate/bid? If you are charging per square foot this works but if you aren’t how would you break it down?

Figure how many hours it'll take, figure out what materials and how much you need, cost to bring the equipment out and bring it back. Hourly rate for equipment plus hourly rate for labor

Rick and I are currently working on a training curriculum that will go into detail and teach people how to bid jobs. I'm hoping to have the program done here in a couple of months.
