These films are getting better and better, the pressure test was great and a new thing too me. The big house project appears to be making some excellent progress. Thank you for the toilet and plastic bag trick, “that’s magic”. The bread cutting exercise was great too, thinking out the box. Yep your friend will need some help with that flush asap. Thanks for another brilliant real life film, hope you had a good weekend and I hope next week goes well for you, take care, regards, Chris.👍👍👍

Very helpful video, thanks for taking time to post it. Quick question, could you use the pressure tester you have to pump just air into system, would it work or do you need water for that particular kit?
@MJTiffPlumbing
Жыл бұрын
You can use ones with just air but if there’s an issue you would struggle to find it
Thanks for the video Mark learned a lot, going to pressure test all the first fix pipework in my house over the weekend and not been able to find a video similar. Was worried id have to loop all my rad tails and get all the air out the pipes but glad to see you just using stop ends which is what I intended. Question I can't find the answer to anywhere though is I already installed the concealed shower mixer can I pressure test with that installed or do I need to disconnect it?

Yep, pretty limited for where it could go to be honest
To do a hydrostatic leak test you need to bleed the air out of the system as much as possible. If not the trapped air compressed and acts like and accumulator and will expand making up the pressure losses form a small leak.
Hello Mark great vid as usual. I am replacing all my 8mm micro bore with JG plastic 22mm and 15mm with copper tails. I will be connecting to existing flow and return from boiler, so no messing with gas. I am planning to install it in new year. I have a 4 bed house with 3 downstairs room including kitchen. How much 22mm do you use normally use for primary flow and return? I am thinking of installing mainly 22mm upstairs and then run it to downstairs and just go about 3Mtrs to each rad in 15mm. Is that too much 22mm. Cheers buddy. Oh one more thing, when you pressure test the system, do you just connect the primary flow and return pipes together and take one pipe to pressure tester?
@MJTiffPlumbing
2 жыл бұрын
Main primary loop in 22mm then 5 meters or so of 15mm will be fine mate
Great Video mate, do you strip the fittings down to remove and remake to reuse them? I like the polypipe push fittings, no collets stops people tampering.

Would it not be quicker ( when using plastic ) to loop the pipe from F & R to each rad. Would save on capping 2 ends to every rad when pressure testing.

@@MJTiffPlumbing can you manually fill with a hose to get it started before connecting the pump?
@MJTiffPlumbing
3 жыл бұрын
Sean.... yes you can mate as long as you put a valve on it to be able to shut it off then connect the pump.... But you need to be on the ball doing it that way incase there’s an issue, that’s why I use the pump... only take 10mins or so but fills very steadily..👍🏼
When using pushfit into compression do you need olives and inserts? And when plastic jnto plastic fitings u need inserts?
@MJTiffPlumbing
3 жыл бұрын
As long as the inserts are used with pushfit you are fine, into copper they dont need inserts
Hi mate, been watching for a while but I don't know if I heard wrong or losing it . Did you say the rad return was under the floor ? It's just I thought you always put the cylinder as the last t back 😕 I could be wrong mate , I know a few of the young lads watch is all . Great video though 👌👏

Nice video mate 👍 when going to blocked toilets in pubs - restaurants etc I'd always look to see if they had the old fashioned mop and use that 😁 I bet that pressure test took some pumping - especially with a couple of end caps missing, we've all done that 😬 Have a good week Mark 👍 P.S yes your mate is a dickhead, but a funny one 😎
