I am a beginner to the aquarium subject and I’ve been doing some research and I was wondering if I could get your opinion on my idea I want a 55 gallon tank and I want 2 Demasoni chilids and 2 Peacock Kaleidoscope Cichlid and 3 Dwarf Petricola Catfish and I know it takes a lot of work to take care of these fish especially in a 55 gallon but I feel that this is good I’ve done research all these fish seem to be ok together and they all only get like 3 in long I have some plans for Java moss and Java ferns but I don’t want to much stuff in the tank because they need room so is this a good idea or should I maybe try other fish I’ve been watching you a lot recently love your vids and this is what I came up with is it a good idea?

@@eggz684 In my experience, with that few amount of African cichlids, you may have some issues with aggression and fish getting picked on/bullied. I would aim for at least 8 cichlids to start with, plus your petricola cats (maybe 4-5 of those too).

Ok thanks man
I love the idea of an "emergency preparedness plan" for your aquariums. I rarely travel for more than a few days at a time so I've never had to worry about fish sitters or auto feeders, but it would be nice to have a plan in place in case I was incapacitated. Thanks for the great advice, as usual!
Perfect timing. Now my vacation won't be ruined
Great video, Thanks for sharing.👍
Great video and advice as always.
Great video Zenzo, love your videos keep them coming
Some good helpful advice Zenzo for people. Prior planning is key. 👌
This is exactly what I needed before my trip! Already have about half of this set up, but I'm definitely following these steps. Thanks for the great info! 👍
Perfect timing for this video I leave for vacation in 1 month.
Zenzo! I literally gasped out loud when all of those flakes went in the tank! LOL!
Thanks Zenzo.
Great video
Loved the video! Thanks! Should I turn on the filter whole 7 days when I'm out?
Good job
I do take a lot of trips so with my tanks I made sure they're heavily planted with all kinds of worms and scuds running around and I even welcome algae I figure that way they have something to munch on. And they don't really eat those things if I'm feeding them everyday but I think it will be good for them to actually do a little work for their food
Great video and helpful advise. I’m curious what’s the name of the plant that is to the left and far right of the tank that you showed the feeding timer? Thanks in advance!
I spend too much money on my tanks to go on vacation😭😆 looking at my aquariums is my escape/vacation.
What a coincidence this was posted the day that I’m leaving for vacation lol
Just in time for my vacation omg unreal
I live in northern California and we have rolling black out and i have a 38 gallon bow front aquarium set up what should i do ?? i see they sell solar powered air pumps should I get one ??

Sry bout the typo haha it's late
do you sell some of your multis, and if so, for how much? I'm breeding them and don't know how much I should charge for them
What about endler fry?
If only a few days I just throw a big battery backup and feed a bit extra and i'm good. If its gonna be a week or more then just add a small 2 gallon ato, and a auto feeder.
Please can you help me I have platy fry in a fry box in my tank and I am leaving tomorrow and can’t get an automated feeder in time what can I do

Assuming that the fry box is inside the main tank, you could put an algae water in it and let them nibble on it for food. Uneaten food may flow through the fry box into the main tank, or at least the increased water volume of the main tank will help dissipate any excess waste from the leftover food.
One question, I'm leaving in 10/5 for four days, if i don't say to a family member that won't leave with me and my family will the bacteria die??
Video idea - plants that grow out of your aquarium
A disinterested spouse is a lot like alone. I’ll be gone two weeks, so I’ll be power feeding a week prior to departure, and checking water quality. The filter will be fresh, but will need to fend for itself. Temp will be 74, and I’ll turn the flow down. Light will be on a timer. Husband will feed every few days. Have I forgotten anything?😳
As far as feeding your fish and how much. DR Herbert R Axelrod use to say if you think you're not feeding your fish enough, then your feeding them too much.
I'm going to be gone for a week. I have 1 tank with barbs who are greedy pigs. If they don't get fed for a day they start attacking each other. The panda garras in the same tank will probably be fine and just eat algae/ biofilm but I'm worried about the barbs fighting. I have a QT with glowlight danios who have had / still have columnaris. This tank worries me the most since the cycle has been broken by medications and salt. It gets 0.05 nitrites in a single day. I'm expecting problems if I leave this tank alone. I might have to take out some media from my healthy tank and move it to the QT to reestablish the cycle (will have to reduce salt first which might let the disease back). Urgh 😢
Your Africans are sickkkk. Some good looking fish.
tittle sure sub.
make a super auto feeder that program to keep ur fish fed.
I just leave the fry, with very litle food as they will not eat much anyway.
My fish would be nuts after 3 days with no food, nuts.
WTF, are there still people that do the lights in an aquarium manually???? I dont believe that.
Great video
