    There are many pros who don't ride true center dawg. Even on park skis , hardly any are built symmetrical now so if you mount true center youre left with a dead hooky feeling tail in certain cases which will hinder your ski ability no matter if your in the park or not. Vishnus are a symmetrical ski so center works best in your case. I ride magnus 102s at reccommended which is 1.5 cm back in the park and prefer that mount to center for that specific ski( i had them center mounted at first). Other than that good detune info

    I strongly recommend having the shop do a base and edge bevel. I do 1º base and edge but some people do 1.5 or 2. It'll basically let your skis ride more on the base and take some of the stresses of rails off of your edges.

    I'd be cautious of a true center mounting...especially if the rocker in the tails is less than the rocker in the tips. I'd mount center between the start of rocker on each end...and often end up only 1 - 2.5 cm forward of the factory line...or 1 - 1.5 cm behind true center.

    Plenty of pros ride the recommend mount point on their park skis which isn't always true center. If you like true center, that's great, but it isn't for everyone. The center of your foot isn't where the human body carries weight unless you are standing dead straight legged. As soon as you get into a slightly athletic stance with your knees bent like you are about to sprint or tackle someone your body weight centers over the ball of your foot. This is a strong stacked position where your knees are over your toes and your shoulders are over your knees. I personally find center mount makes me put my body in misaligned position, where I get rocked back on my heels, putting strain on my knees because I can't stay stacked over my toes. Yes there are plenty of park skiers that ski center mounted, but there are just as many that don't.

  • @Nymph-cs7fg
    @Nymph-cs7fg2 жыл бұрын

    I’ve gotta say tho, u should really stop recommending true center. The ski design is made for the mounting points provided and the skis will not work as well if you mount them weirdly, obviously it doesn’t matter if you do it. but I think telling people that if they want a park ski then they need to center mount them isn’t true and could effect their experience

    If you're mounting a pair of PARK SPECIFIC skis, I'll recommend true center 100% of the time. If you're mounting a pair of skis that will be used outside of the park as well, then yes recommended mount would be fine as well.

    Live with it dufus. Depending on ability level, you may not notice a difference. Hopefully will only need the toes remounted. Re-mounting skis within that critical area will weaken the skis structure and may have a binding tear out of the ski.

    @@jack.Rudd27 That’s awesome bro progression is great. Honestly at your skill level and height (162 cm), I’d go with a ski a little closer to 160 cm. Some great options that you can find under $400 are Line Honey Badgers, Atomic Punx 5, Armada ARV, Line Tom Wallisch Pro’s, K2 Sights, and the Volkl Bash. There’s more that I’m forgetting but that’s just off the top of my head. I have lots of experience with the Honey Badgers and I’d describe them as very soft, VERY light, and very durable. I haven’t skied too much on the others but if I were to buy a pair right this second, I personally would go with the Tom Wallisch pros. But I’d say do some research and find which pairs are more oriented to your terrain and your skill level.👍

    As in wax do you mean waxing it yourself, or getting it waxed at the place? Also is warm or cold weather wax better than all temperature wax?

  • @jakobgraham6850

    @jakobgraham6850

    2 жыл бұрын

    I work at a ski shop so I feel pretty qualified to answer these questions. 1. In general, if you really only plan on waxing 1-2 times a year, waxing at a shop is going to be cheaper than waxing yourself, since if you wax yourself you'll need an iron, wax, scrapers, brushes, wax bench etc. Of course if you wax multiple times a year waxing yourself will eventually be cheaper and more sustainable. 2. Again, depends on how much you ski and how much you wax. I've waxed for people who race every weekend so they need the best wax for the conditions, but I also wax for people who only ski when they can, and they ask for all temperature, since all temperature will provide a decent wax anytime they go out.
