How To Prepare Rotting Windows For Painting

This Touprett Wood Repair is the best thing I've used in a long time. Its an interior or exterior filler and you can fill as deep as you want. Its quick drying and can be painted over in 3 hours after applying. Great if you have old rotten windows that need attention without having to get a carpenter in.

Repair care resin is way better than any other wood fillers. Very expensive but doesn’t go off to quick no wastage and doesn’t shrink and crack over time.

Hi Dan, thanks for the video, what a mess to have to deal with, I'm working on a hard wood porch that's just as bad and I didn't want to use a two part filler because it goes off so fast its wasteful and not cheap, this looks like This could be the answer for me to. It looks good come the end, what hardener did you use first before you used the filler, also did you leave the L shaped brackets on and paint over them? do you have any finished pictures of this job? looks a good job though, well done mate.

Great job! I’ve found that filler to be very hit and miss. I’ve found it can sand down to basically nothing. Maybe I’m using it wrong

How does that Toupret wood hardener compare with say using Ronseal Wet Rot hardener? Agree, the Toupret wood filler is brilliant by the way.

Love the Toupret as it dries quick even over wet wood and makes it feel solid after. The brush in side the tin attached to the lid is a fantastic idea too

Is it easy to rub down? The toupret normal filler is lovely to sand down.

@@danielnugentpainteranddeco557 Yeah you know why Dan cause they don't want to spend the money and it cost more working for people driving 100k new electric cars with their own charging points and they won't get chippies in then expect you to do it for less that what you could make comfortably painting 3-4 rooms

We should have never stopped using linseed paints wouldn't get all this rotting timber on every exterior job then just be a straight 1-2 coat job ridiculous I'm surprised at how many people say when you start the job and they see you filling etc and they say I thought were going to put new timber in. 1 I think what for that price 2. never evening occurred to me that I'd have to explain that im a decorator its a carpenters job and a lot more expensive you take a job on for less money than you would normally charge to help them out and they expect everything under the sun
