In many states 18 months experience is not required. At central level it is must. You have to check the requirements as per your state.

And UPSC central Drug inspector vacancies will be released soon in October. Sir I'm pass put in 2019 , I'm lost touch with my subjects, i want to prepare my self for DI, but our syllabus vry huge, how can i prepare smartly, sit ur best faculty to give good suggestions to DI Aspirants.
