Getting into paddle board camping and this is one of the absolute best videos on packing and planning I have found. Lots of great tips and items to pack specific to paddling and safety on the water. Would love if you continued more videos along these lines. Great to share all of the info from experienced paddlers.

Excelent presentation!I think 5 or 6 m of paracord can help also. For me the guilty pleasure are some small led lights on batteries over the hamock. This year I wil try the Draumur Amok from a norvegian comp. Cheers from Romania :)

Why isn't a tide chart part of your ten essentials? When I am sea kayaking in BC, or the San Juans, I am religious in planning my time on the water based on the tides. He briefly mentioned tides, but not nearly emphasizing how important it is. I haven't used my SUP yet for touring, but there is no way anyone should go out and not know what the tides are doing. You can get sucked out into the Straits, or through some really scary places when the tides are ripping. There is no way someone on a SUP board is going to be able to fight them. I am almost dumbfounded that you didn't go over that in this video.

Hey Richard don't be dumbfounded, realize that this video is for what to pack and how to pack it. 10 Essentials is an overall gear list that you would have for doing trips in the outdoors and it is not specific to paddling. Of course tides are important and I did mention keeping track of your tides which I do in my write in the rain journal. Just as important as tides is weather, which I also keep track of in my journal, on my weather radio and with my phone but this is a video about gear to bring not a video on decision making or navigation which would include weather, sea state(tides, currents etc) , terrain and human factor......norm

Some people like the movement of SUPS more. It also offers a full-body workout and is more portable. At the end of the day, it is all up to personal preference!

I enjoy a standup paddleboard as a tool for coastal exploration a lot more than a kayak and for a number of reasons. I love pushing the sport and developing the gear to be efficient. And to me it's just way more enjoyable and comfortable....norm
