This channel has been such a help to me. I've been redecorating the hallway/landing going from wallpaper to paint including walls/doors/skirts/spindles. My head had fallen off a bit at the scale of the job I thought I had and I thought I had to iron out every little imperfection which 1set me back but I came across this channel and I finally finish it tomorrow and it looks great. "Progress and not perfection" 😆

Hello, I'm a first-time decorator and I've removed wallpaper but found that there was a coat of brown/copper paint underneath which has come away in patches. How do I clean this up? Does it get scraped off? Do I just sand it off? I would like to clean this wall up to apply lining paper and then new wallpaper. Any advice is appreciated.

@@Inexteriors Thank you. I didn't get notification of your reply for some reason. I've just been watching your "How to sand walls" video and that's also helpful. I am going to give the wallpaper a miss and just go with lining paper then a fresh coat of paint...

@@AlfGuitar i just flash up the walls with emulsion, just make sure it is dusted down well, even wipe the filler patches with a damp cloth before flashing up, if you are painting dry wall or new plaster, then you must water down the paint.

@@Inexteriors it’s old plaster, shall I just fill straight on to it then spot prime once sanded and dusted? Also what is flashing up sorry I know it sounds silly but I’m new lol
