Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah: The Prophet (p.b.u.h) used to teach us the way of doing Istikhara (Istikhara means to ask Allah to guide one to the right sort of action concerning any job or a deed), in all matters as he taught us the Suras of the Qur'an. He said, "If anyone of you thinks of doing any job he should offer a two rak`at prayer other than the compulsory ones and say (after the prayer): -- 'Allahumma inni astakhiruka bi'ilmika, Wa astaqdiruka bi-qudratika, Wa as'alaka min fadlika Al-`azlm Fa-innaka taqdiru Wala aqdiru, Wa ta'lamu Wala a'lamu, Wa anta 'allamu l-ghuyub. Allahumma, in kunta ta'lam anna hadha-lamra Khairun li fi dini wa ma'ashi wa'aqibati `Amri (or 'ajili `Amri wa'ajilihi) Faqdirhu wa yas-sirhu li thumma barik li Fihi, Wa in kunta ta'lamu anna hadha-lamra shar-run li fi dini wa ma'ashi wa'aqibati `Amri (or fi'ajili `Amri wa ajilihi) Fasrifhu anni was-rifni anhu. Waqdir li al-khaira haithu kana Thumma ardini bihi.' (O Allah! I ask guidance from Your knowledge, And Power from Your Might and I ask for Your great blessings. You are capable and I am not. You know and I do not and You know the unseen. O Allah! If You know that this job is good for my religion and my subsistence and in my Hereafter--(or said: If it is better for my present and later needs)--Then You ordain it for me and make it easy for me to get, And then bless me in it, and if You know that this job is harmful to me In my religion and subsistence and in the Hereafter--(or said: If it is worse for my present and later needs)--Then keep it away from me and let me be away from it. " ISHTISARA" - (Consulting with Trusted People about the subject before Ishtikhara) and then (2). " ISHTIKHARA " ( Asking guidelines from the Almighty Allah about the subject matter for which a person is in Dilemma/Indecisive State of Mind to make Decision) Also: Dowa in ISHTIKHRA prayer: Two permissible way of Dowa: (1) Within Salah on sitting position Before Salam both on Right & Left. (2). After End of Salah wit Two Salam then make Dowa .

Asalam walaykum everyone, I hope this comment helps you. So, whenever you make a sin, any sin and want to get rid of it but can't cuz shaitaan always makes you do it then you pray two rakats. For example, if u wanna quit cigarettes but can't. Then pray 2 rakats of istagfar after drinking cigarette. If you used 3 cigarettes a day, after using each, just pray two rakats = 6 rakats. Shaitaan loves when you do a sin. But he hates a lot when you repent or do a good deed. So after few or more days, when you go to commit the sin, shaitaan with only say "don't do it"

Can I get an answer please. I like to draw and I’m good at it but I hear that it’s Haram. I did some investigations and my understanding of it (and what other scholars have said) is that it is fine if the image isn’t a statue or it’s being hung on the wall, it’s simply on a phone or paper then is it fine. Please someone should help me clarify

you cannot draw anything with a face because it is haram. Draw what is outside of this. photographs are also haram as long as you can recognize who is on them.

i make dua for one nonmuslim person (guide) i started with that 2 month ago. can i ask Allah on istihara if i can continue with dua for guide that person or stop making dua?

You probably don't need the answer anymore but... I'm in the same situation and since reading it after the salah is valid too i think it'd just be better to do that since its not memorised...

Do u have to memorise this dua or can u read it of here during the prayer

Assalamualaikum, of course akhi no problem in doing so, but you it has to be read in Arabic, so check out the transliteration. Allah reward and accept our efforts

Read Hadith of Bukhari 1162, it can't be read in sujood.
