How to Powdercoat Brembo Brake Calipers | 17z 18z Porsche Audi VW | Budget BBK IS300

We prep and powdercoat my Brembo 17z brake calipers for my Lexus IS300 budget big brake kit (BBK). We are using a Spanish gold base with lollipop red transparent topcoat. We are using an ‪@eastwoodco‬ Dual Voltage Powder Coating gun (original DG-10) with Prismatic Powders material. I am using a 14" Luby toaster oven that fits the front calipers.

Some people also retrofit analog (digital doesn't work) electric smokers to do the same. Requires some work to get the temperature to 400F but it has more room. amzn.to/3dB9W2n

Nicely done! I'd actually been looking at the Brembo 17Z calipers for my Porsche 928 project, but ended up with a set of Lexus LS 430 calipers (availability and ease of installation, while still being a significant upgrade in braking force for this application.)

Nice, they look great. I saw you trying to get the gold flanks to be seen through the red, but it looks pretty hard.

Yea that’s the point of the base coat. The lollipop red is a transparent clear topcoat. Most people use Prismatic chrome powder but they were out of stock when I ordered so I went with the gold metallic.

Very nice! i really like that color. I was thinking about illusion Cherry or Ruby, but this seems a little darker, which is what I'm going for. What do they look like in the day time sunlight ?

Hi so the reason ur powder wasn’t sticking, u didn’t use electricity, and u didn’t bake them then use electricity u we’re just dumping the powder without charge but still came out good

There is electricity. The powder gun is plugged in and clipped to the rack.
