Tip #3 with your hand is really helpful!
A tip I learned is playing music. I carry a Bluetooth speaker with me and ask the model what gets them grooving and play that music for them. 🥂

Manny Ortiz gang in the house 😁 but seriously. It's not an original idea. But I love it!!
The eye tracking technique is genius! Posing as a model is also a really good idea
broooo the hand idea thank you
Love these videos and podcast b&h. Always helping me iron out any wrinkles in a fun way! Cheers
Using the "conversation" (covered in step 1) throughout the shoot really helps to keep the model engaged with you, the photographer, instead of the sterile lens. Humans interact much better with other humans than they do with inanimate objects. ....well, most humans do ;-) I absolutely love step #5 of this video, as most of the photographers that I've worked with are terrified to be on the other side of the lens. PROPS!
love that last tip! sometimes we need to get in front of the camera too!
Great tips Dave!
Awesome video, great tips. I'm a green photographer and just organised my first portrait shoot with a model so this is super helpful
Great tips! I definitely agree with the conscious shooting tip. 😁
Great tips! Super useful!
We would love to see more!!
Really good advice! Thank you!
I never thought about posing for someone else. Interesting tip and one that is a little intimidating for a person who prefers to be behind a camera. Still worth considering.
Very Helpful, thank you.
Awesome tips thanks for sharing
Poising for others is a great tip. What you think you look like in your minds eye is never what you really look like on camera.
Great video, very informative!
Some photographers that I know, hate to have their photo taken. I think it is important to model for other photographers. It is hard to ask someone to do something you wouldn't do yourself!
Well done Dave
Very informative
very nice video
Can we talk about how he touches the shutter? Like dammmn 👀😂 I think I need to buy a new camera

Looks like 50mm Leica
very good but what do you tell me about some photos that did not respect the rules of thirds

How about if you crop them to your taste?

Maybe because rules are made to be broken... Or because portraits following the rules of thirds are just boring
I love to take photos while laughing,
One thing I've always learned about photography is be creative! Have an image in your mind and create that. You'll make magic
Cool. You are not an idiot, and that is rare.
A7RIV ? 👀
Dave -- you did not speak about light -- natural or artificial. Paying attention to light is my number 1 ... because I already know my subjects
While all good tips, there’s little about posing or at least it wasn’t what I was expecting.
I was expecting a great outcome but.... nvm
