How to Pose a Couple

Get my course, "Portrait Photography Quickstart" here:
www.jerryghionis.com/how-to-p...
As a professional wedding photographer for two decades, I've photographed thousands and thousands of weddings. Now, wedding photography is a great educator because you have to work and think quickly and produce the demanded results every time.
Posing is something that can not only make a couple look amazing, help you tell a better story with your camera, but it also saves time.
Being able to look at a couple, know how to pose them, get them in position in seconds, and then show them a shot is certainly satisfying, plus, it brings instant trust between you and your subjects.
I hope this video gives you some of the tools you need to do just that! Enjoy!

Absolutely insanely well-done. I've been a full time professional wedding photographer for 11 years now (and I hate to toot my own horn but I'm pretty darned good), but even I learned a lot from this. Much of it I was doing unconsciously but once you are aware of what you are doing and have a full understanding of it, it is a game changer. Jerry, this is top notch stuff my man and you very, very, very much know what you're doing.

It was cool to really get a sense of how much _work_ modeling is, these two were both so on top of their game. They interpreted and followed every direction, they could snap right back into poses immediately after a break, and they were the perfect mix of fun and professional. I was really impressed with everyone, esp once you find out they are in 100° weather!

We got hitched in Las Vegas as part of Las Vegas Marries military and I wish you could have been my photographer. Everything you taught me in these videos was priceless because there was no time for the photographer to pose us so these tips were extremely helpful. It helped us get some beautiful candid shots but looking our best. I'm extremely grateful to you and every time I look at my wedding photos I will think of you. Thank you so much for all you do

Not a photographer but this was fascinating. Took two years of Art History and it was great learning about the intricacies of different artworks: where your eye is drawn to first and why, how different characters are portrayed to exude certain emotions etc. So fascinating to know it can happen with photography too, almost like an amazing live-action dance between ‘actors’ and canvas. Truly, truly awesome. Also shocked that this guy has less than 100k subscribers. By the quality of the video alone, I assumed he had at least 1 mil

It's funny you say that about his hand around her waist, the other side benefit is if they break up, it makes it easier for her to crop him out without a floating hand remaining on her waist 😂

I have a photo booth company and these instructions will be very helpful. Most of the time we take fun spontaneous photos against a silly or creative green screen background. But occasionally someone asks for a serious shot. So we bring out the sunset background and pose them. Having learned theses poses our clients will be very happy.
