    Wow. Fantastic! The excitement from the owner was priceless. I'm glad you shared that. When I polish out a car, and get that smile and excitement, it makes my day. I even had a gentleman bring his prized show car in for a polish, and he started shedding tears he was so happy. Very, very cool. I love the way Smurf thinks his way around the car while polishing. It's never a straight-up polish. Good video for me to watch. I gotta try some Motorplast from Koch Chemie. It was great that your little boy helped you out! Fantastic! I'm thinking the 49ers are getting ready to make a big move on 1st place for the division. Too good of a team to drop games like they have been. Ok, Smurf, give family giant hugs!!

    @PapaSmurf918Detail yeah the car was a 1939 Pontiac fire chiefs fire truck. Heavily oxidized. To make a long story short, his son died in the line of duty as a fireman, and the father uses the truck to tell his sons story as a fireman. He puts his sons boots and fireman's helmet out front of the truck during car shows. It's his way of dealing with the loss of his son. So he's pretty emotional when it comes to the firetruck. I had to help out in some way, so I had to do my best polish job for him and his family. (Of course, after he told me the story, I cried when he left). For me it was a feel good job.

    You know, that was my thoughts! I don't see any visual signs it was.. oh and I don't have a paint gauge🤣🤫🤫🤫 YES, I love micro cut the more I use it! I used the DIY Gold standard on the Harley I was working on.. I enjoyed it. Very long working time, smells great too. I guess I could have tried that but I that micro cut worked much better on that Harley 😁 so I just went straight to that! Hey, I appreciate you taking the time to watch! 🤙🤝👍

    If the Black paint had water spots, what options would you consider if the pad and polish you used didn’t remove them?

  • @PapaSmurf918Detail

    @PapaSmurf918Detail

    There is always a step to go a little more aggressive with pad or up to a compound. But that depends how far you want to go. At that point. I wouldn't chase them... if a compound an microfiber pad won't get them then nothing will.. other than wet sanding... and , all depends how much clear you have. So, if a water spot remover doesn't work.. and you try a fairly aggressive approach as far as pad an polish. I just leave them. Nothing worth compromising clear👍👍

    What speed did you use on the machine while polishing?

    I stuck around speed 3 on my G9.. if it had half clicks I'd opt for 3.5.. bit it does not.. 3 seems to do ok. On the panels I did 2 step I cut on speed 4 Ann finished on speed 3👍👍

    Hi, I seem to be getting some haze after using Carpro Reflect with finishing foam pad on DA polisher. I did the cutting stage with a Shinemate cutting foam pad (diamond pattern) and 3D One hybrid compound, which removed most of the marring and waterspots, but after doing the finishing step with Reflect, it seem to leave some haze on some areas, especially around the edges of the section I am working on and around the body lines, which I thought was just stubborn residue since it is also very hard to wipe off after IPA spray. What do recommend me to do? My car is a black metallic Honda (soft paint), I work in a garage but its hot and humid here. May I know what speed setting do you usually use when finishing, and how many passes do you need to do? This is my first go at polishing, could be due to the technique or the pads. Appreciate the help, Thanks!

    Hey my friend. So, when I'm having issues with haze on softer paint I'll tend to drop the speed down on the polisher and use very light pressure. Try 1 slow pass ( up and down then side to side ) and wipe off. See what that will get. Also, if your using a 15mm throw sometimes that can be a little to aggressive so I like to use my G9 9mm throw or any shorter throw unit if I can't finish out with the 15mm. After those changes then I'd change liquid. What other finishing polishes do you have. I've had good luck with Rupes fine da polish, PhoenixEOD fabulous finish polish, and Sonax Perfect finish. Another good one is the Koch Chemie micro cut.

    @@PapaSmurf918Detail I currently only have CarPro Reflect as my finishing polish, but I do want to try Rupes Fine DA next. I have both a Shinemate EX620 15mm 5" DA, and also the EX603 12mm 3" DA. I asked some other guy and he said it could be because of my pads (I cheaped out and got the Shinemate diamond pattern pads). When trying to fix the haze, do I have to compound it again with a cutting pad or just immediately use the finshing compound and pad again. May I also ask how many pads do you go through for an entire car, and how often do you change the pads. I tried cleaning the pads with the pad brush but it doesn't seem to do much in cleaning the pad. I will try your method after this. Sorry for the newbie comment, I really appreciate the help, great video as always. Much thanks!

    The shinemate Diamond pads are awesome. The red diamond finishing pad should be plenty. They are not cheap pads👍 you don't need to compound to finish out. You can just go straight to finishing. As far as pads go and how many I use. Ever since I've acquired the Lake County Pad washer I only use 1 pad. And clean after every pass. It's a great system and keeps pads clean and cool👍 before I had it, I'd still only use 2 pads. After each pass I'd blow out the pad with compressed air... never was a fan of the brush. Felt it would mess up the pads. And after let's say a hood an fender I'd then clean the pad with my pad solution and spin dry, set it aside and put a fresh pad on. I'd repeat this process rotating between the pads👍 however sometimes it would take a few pads to find out which pad Polish combo I'd stick with. Once that is determined then I'd stick to that and get it done.

    @@PapaSmurf918Detail Seen good reviews on the LC Pad Washer, but unfortunately they don't sell them here. I just used a new pad every time the pads looked clogged up to me, and I just submerge and clean them in a bucket with my car shampoo (CarPro Reset). I must admit it took me an hour to do the bonnet because of the extreme water spot etchings and haze, I had to leave some of the mineral etchings behind because I was afraid I could burn through the clearcoat. I think this is a VERY soft paint (2023 Honda HRV). I tried out your method with my 3" 12mm DA on speed 1 and it seems to reduce the haze but I could still see it on some areas, and some buffer trails as well. Did 3 drops of Carpro Reflect on the red Shinemate pad but after doing a single pass on half of the hood, it already started to dust. I'm kind of lost at what to do now, I might try again tomorrow coz its 2AM in the morning here haha.

    @Lesparta Sorry to hear you can't get the pad washer my friend. It's a great tool. But, it's not NEEDED. As far as your choices left if it helped but you are still getting some haze your going to need to get a different polish. Unfortunately, not every polish works with every paint. Having options for this exact scenario is key👍 Grab some of the Rupes DA fine and a white Rupes ultra fine finishing pad. Keep the speed low and watch the magic happen🤜🤛
