Lovely job. I've seen others finish with a churn brush. Is that necessary on brick ?

I feel your pain Budd. Repointing flint walls at the moment and slow but well worth the effort. Looks great!!!

My man can you help on the color and mixed you did to get this mortar ? I like the tool you’re using to polish the mortar, what is it ?

Hi many thanks for watching, the mix is bought already pre mixed, it comes in one ton bags and it is always the same colour, we just put it straight into the mixer to make it usable, the tool we are using is a piece of hard wood ten mm thick and about 125mm long and cut to an angle of 45 degree, nothing more simple than this, I hope this helps 👏👏🧱

Greetings hope your well I have a quick question . What do you recommend for small jobs like missing bricks . Is there a difference between the pointing lime and bricklaying lime mixture or is it how you mix ? Thank you mate .

I expected something else that would compress the mortar into the joints too. The lime mortar appears to be simply put into the joints from the trowel and just the surface is "floated" with the piece of hardwood with no pressure to push it into completely fill the joints. Beating with a churn brush compresses the mortar.

Andy thanks for watching, on this type of work we normally use pre mixed lime , it comes in 1 ton bags , they do about 5 different shades but the beauty of it it’s a constant colour, on this particular little bit of work we didn’t have a lot left and it was an extra so we decided to lay in normal compo , then take out and point it with the pre mixed lime, 👍👍👏

Why didn't you just build it with lime?
