When clicking “console” on my companion app, my xbox doesn’t show up, nor does it show up when manually typing in my IP address. Yes both devices are on the same network. Has anyone found a work around for this?

When I do the streaming from Xbox to PC, there is just too much input lag and the picture quality is rough. I wish they would make all games Xbox play anywhere!

@@SkinnyTim_5150 he means connecting to pc wireless Just like remote play on playstation There will always be input lag with that But if you have a capture card u can hook that up to ur pc and Xbox and use obs to see ur consoles picture so there is no input lag that way Hope this makes sense

Great quick tutorial, quick question. Are you able to use your mouse and keyboard on the PC to play xbox one games like Halo, age of empires for example? Without having to use the xbox controller.

USEFUL

This is only a feature that is available on the older generation of the Xbox consoles. The Series X|S do not allow for streaming to PC (Remote Play). There is also no indication as to when it will become available for Series X|S owners. Otherwise the tutorial is perfect and will connect a console to a PC exactly as shown in the video. Hopefully Microsoft adds it back to the upgraded consoles...

This was true at the time this was written but thankfully no more. You can now remote play a series X / S on pc using the Xbox app.

@@steviefowler9161 ethernet or wifi connection works, though they'll tell you to use an Ethernet for better stability connection. im not close enough to the router where i live though to reach it, so i use the wifi with mine. it works well enough, Ethernet is always more stable because there's less interference, but that's all dependent on your internet provider and what connections you have. in my case, my Wifi that i have installed is actually about the same as than my Lan port, because i don't have the latest or fastest Lan port. the most up to date is that 2.5 whatever, i don't have that, mine is a little older, but I've used the App to stream the Xbox, though i do wish there was a way you could play your Xbox games on your PC without the Console turned on. i only use the Xbox App when i wanna record gameplay through OBS.

PROBLEM: I just purchased Turok 1 & 2 from Xbox's website and they weren't listed in the my XBOX PC APP. How can I play those games without a console? I only downloaded an add-on called Forza Horizon: Hot Wheels because I thought that was a game. You had to get Forza Horizon game in order to using that "add-on." It takes so long to download, so I put it in my External SSD storage thingy.

No its like screen sharing your phone to the television. it would lower your fps, it has to send data packets to your PC it otherwise would not need too. compressing data then using the network to send to the PC that has to compression it.

I don't know much about these things, but in case anyone was still wondering about this: I just tried streaming without having my Xbox connected to the tv, and it worked just fine for the few minutes I was playing.
