Prelude of Storm also got an animation rework in the last balance patch (KR) that makes the animation much shorter. That's one of the biggest changes I'm looking forward to 😅

Came back to this after the Artist vid. Really makes everything super simple and clear, making it easier to figure out what you're doing on other classes too. Wish I'd seen something as straightforward as this back when I first made a Bard, hah.

One thing to have in mind for new alt Bards pugging out there: You'll probably need to run 1 marking+ Rhapsody because pugging is hell

rhapsody is only 'good' on specific scenario, such as ice turtle wall mech that you can squeeze in more dps by ignoring the dmg. in normal raid scenario, it is very hard to actually get benefits out of it. Saving people with it, Brel G5 is good example, you can see a lot of pugs not saving stand up, and then getting fucked by safespots (there are 2), those you can save. outside of that, it will just save dps's potion by 1, in most case. or if you can fit in more 1 bubble heal with 1 extra resource skill, that can actually save more pots, in long run. In actual prog, saving 1 pot can be valuable, but not really in reclear. Rhapsody definitely is great skill for saving, or ignoring a lot of mechs FOR youreslf, definitely best skill for being lazy / not dying, but if you wanna get higher 'supporter' MVP more consistently, probably worth dropping. ON RECLEAR pugs.

I've been using this build (DS Aw MMP HA Ex) for half a year now😅 now it's meta😂 having tried max mp, you will never give up on it you also change Conviction and Judgment to Overwhelm and get 5x3+ VPH 2.5 (equivalent)

Awesome video! The pronunciation is Sona-tin, which is a shorter and lighter form of sonata. Maurice Ravel has a beautiful piano work by the same name (sonatine). Knowledge is power!

It's all nice what you can do with the bard, but it doesn't sound too rewarding. The most you get is people NOT complaining as a supporter. For all the trouble. In other games you either stand out because everyone is at good health, or you having reserved mana well enough to still heal the tank in longer fights. Of course there are certain buff debuff classes like the lore master in lord of the rings online. But most people SEE that you do this, because the boss hitting much less hard or you see the icon at the boss... I'm not sure here, but I'm not the most avid loa player.

As most fun comes for me from Rhapsody of Light, i will not go for this. Also didnt find info about stagger of new skill, i run soundholic as main stagger spell also Sound shock is best stagger skill in bard builds. Changed last week 2 bard alts to full 100 swift accessories, will be fun after the change :D Mana is a problem, but i am trying to counter it with bracelet, which helps a lot, but still can end with 0 mana. Rhapsony of light and soundholic are great spells thanks to fact, that you cast them for a while, so you gain time to recover you mana.

i have been using Harp instead of Rhapsody of light since the begining using Harp on all my 6 bards, easy uptime on marking and it also gives alot of speciality meter during its duration + with gems and cooldown you can have a 100% uptime on the harp.

I run high swift build because I’m accounting for the yearning buffs. I do need to switch to max mp soon cuz this mana issue is starting to affect my uptime…

I got three bards with 5x3 build. 3 of them with same typical class/expert/awakening/heavy. I enjoy the one with max mp than other two with Vitalpoint and drop of ether😅

@@sw33tm3 there should be no mana issues even with high swift at this point if you rotate your heavenly aura with conviction and judgement. I gain 100% uptime with always full mana.

I second this, my friends like to say Bard is better but I don't think they understand how useful Paladin is. Honestly I prefer a Paladin in my party because they are much more consistent in everything they do.

@@MihaiDurus push immunity is a crutch IMHO. And cooldowns are really short for how I build mine. Shield is up so often and lasts a long time. Very little downtime. And damage buffs are superior to bard.

It's so weird that DPS can have 2 viable builds but supports get cornered into swift build, with the exception of bards having the option to go spec or swift without trolling the team

The shielding part Youre supposed to pop them one right after the other, the damage reduction on GT is nice and all but thats not 100% shield. I generally pop GT before WoM because thats how cd lines up

High swift is also not cheap if you do it properly aka getting level 10 gems on attack buffs

Full spec bae, 90% eff. with less than 100% downtime makes up for the lack of the latter. Skip mechs don't get hit, get off work early.

I've decreased my swiftness and I'm now at 1400 with 2 level 9 gems, I can get 100% uptime and have very little issues with mana (using harp+ss, so no sound shock spam). Wouldn't that make it more valuable as a build so I can drop Max MP and use Drops of Ether instead?

This is gettin' out of hand people sayin spec is better or swiftness is better. Well none of them are better and if you are a support you kno' why? I mean some DPS classes will prefer the spec, but the scripted burst moments exist only in content like Hellmode, other DPS classes like entropy/melee will cry for a heal .. so it is pretty simple: Make both of the builds and learn to play them both, and if there are players that prefer one type of play and you can deliver you should do it. That being said I prefer the full swiftness, full CDR so I can spam abilities (I like pianoing) I shield myself and with tenacity tripods I don't have to move alot. I do consistent 2 bars of serenade of courage and throw 1 bar desperate salvation every minute. This is a build with Sonatina that I want to try out, perhaps I can get 3 bars very quickly. The way I play them 1800 swift 600 spec I will spam abilities and ofer consisten buffs, due to certain patterns a boss does this can mean alot in a run, since your buffs are 100% up, all it matters is for dps in your party to be consistent in dealing dmg. Spec 1800 Swiftness 600, this is very good if you got a team in which you can time your buffs with their big hits, in this case if a boss pattern fucks up the DPS rotation then the million of dmg is gone for another 30s 1 min till the rotation can be redone.

Do you swap the counter for the stigma If you need it ?

I have been using your swift build here, and i enjoy it a lot.. but this stagger issue.. i tried to take soundholic over stigma but in theory both of them are mid stagg no? it shouldnt that bigg diff, or is just soundholic has faster hits/more dmg?

I think saying having just ''supporter' is less than having extra dps is just not right, unless in a highly out-dated contents. Even on Brel 1-4, on my main (1533), without proper support, i do run out of pots trying to dps while getting hit. If i have to dodge mechs that i can paralysis/push-immune through and dps, I do lose shit f-ton of dps. Moreover If i die due to running out of pots last 10% of fight (which doesnt matter raid probably would still clear), dps contribution of the support also drops by that much. There are reasons people hate playing with Spec bards on pugs without coordination, you have to completely change your playstyle. I would still rather have 'supporter' swift-bard over 'Cruel (or whatever highest one name is) supporter' spec-bard with 0 shields. Also having no support is just not a go. lmao. would rather just not play than play without supports. if your goal is just to clear raid, maybe, but i wanna have fun bruh.

you using only HA 1?? crazy. I would have at least lvl2.....

Now that support drought has ended with the addition of Artist and most people making 1-2 more characters with story express incentive and punika power pass incentive, the gatekeeping of supports with less than 4x3 will begin.

30secs to get 3 bars?! damn pala sucks after that patch. it also takes 30sec. to fill the meter on my pala, but not being able to refill it while its active makes the difference. :/

But Pala can heal and boost dps at the same time. Also Pala awakening fill full bar unlike Bard with only 1 bubble.

So those are the Korean Bards? I got a Bard in my Brel run who had double preemptive strike books and went like this until gate 3. And there are ppl who never use awakenings/heal/buff btw I don't know what ppl do with their identities the whole fight. I personally have 5x3 build 500 spec 1650 swift lv5 gems with option to switch between Max MP and VPH by swapping the book. A lot of times it feels slow getting 3 bubbles or getting 1 bubble for a heal but for a 1525 alt it is more than good enough.

Why don't you just tell the poor guy that he has chaos dungeon build like duh. Also lots of people don't gear a support alt with 5x3 because a support really only needs 3 engravings. If you want to gear your bard that's your choice but as long as people have 3 engravings on a support and gems it's fine. There are plenty bad supports out there for sure but you can always teach them if you know better

Wouldnt magic stream be better than mp increas because, magick stream gives 10% cd reduction and 15% mp recovery at max stacks? Or is it too much to handle the stacks? (I am considering it as my 4th engraving)

its not good for bard/artist because they get hit using super armour skills to help party so buff wouldn't be kept up, their cooldowns are also short enough

No, MS is good only for paladin. Bard need to stay close to the boss so you can't mantain 5 stacks.

Nope. Unless it's a burst comp and everyone makes use of the 3 bubbles, you actually lose dps because you can't rotate the normal attack buffs efficiently.

Id love to agree with the 2 of you, but since the raid designs are all locked in waves so to say, or phases. You jump from phase to phase. What you both point out is a "perfect" scenario which you beleive is the only option, i disagree. I disagree because the moment i trip buff with bubble Ab and debuff all the dmg you do at start of fight skips us str8 to next phase. As a trip supp runner i always use stims so the fight starts with big buffs, i usually by buff time end have more charge and where in next phase... then big buff again and we skip again... I would love to agree with you guys but i cant, even without a party or specific team comp, spec is going to allow us to skip directly from phase to phase even if 1 or 2 of the dps miss their wave because most content is underleveled the 1 dps that hits on sync has more likely chance to skip us to next phase

All the buffs have like 5 to 15s of time, its a window.... i will say for the destroyer sorcs, ya if they just used their burst then there out.... same as transform classes, but again it wont matter as much as you think because the uptime is pretty good with high lvl gems and the buff time is long enough to cover all the dps windows between mechs/phases
