How to play Tequila Sunrise by The Eagles - Rhythm and Solo - Guitar Lesson Tutorial

In this guitar lesson tutorial we look at how to play both the rhythm and lead sections of Tequila Sunrise by the Eagles. The song was written by Don Henley and Glenn Frey. It was the first single from the band's second album Desperado in 1973.
The song uses mainly open position chords with an interesting rhythm and fill, and has a solo comprised mainly of double stops.

    Hi Paul, thanks so much - you're a gifted teacher - made such a potentially difficult song so straightforward to follow. I've looked at other videos on how to play 'Tequila Sunrise'but they often seem to leave critical points to 'assumption' i.e. you somehow have to work it out yourself! But you explain each part so clearly. This is by far the best lesson! Thanks again

    good lesson but would be easier to follow if you used a guitar with dots on the neck for easier reference.

    Heanor School Of Music fair comment but i find the best way to learn is to use the lyric as a cue for chord changes aids memory of song (for me) enjoyed your playing

    Believe it or not, it never occurred to me, probably because I tend to learn songs by ear, so I'm memorising as I work it out. Happy to give it a go, and await the stream of comments telling me to shut up. I hope the video was of some use to you.
