I would switch Intelligence and Charisma. Jack learned astronomy, navigation by stars, and was taught by Egyptian scholars (plus he came into contact with so many different cultures and is a great strategist). I understand that Wisdom and physical stats take priority, but him having a negative Int modifier doesn't make sense. In regards to Charisma, Jack's positive relationships draw from his nobility and purity rather than his ability to persuade people. For example, he didn't convince Ashi of Aku's true nature until he showed her a ton of indisputable evidence of Aku's atrocities. It was his actions and personality, not his words, that won her over. Honestly, for the most part, Jack is like anime and comic book characters in that he would have crazy high stats in almost everything.

the one thing this build is missing "you can fly!?" "No, Jump Good!" another way I thought of making a samurai is Barbarian and reflavouring rage as a battle trace and your so skilled with a sword you can deflect part of the damage from a hit. not to mention Jack does fly off the rails afew times though does fit a bigger samurai better. totem barbarian would also fit his animal friendship and that hes fighting for the natural world against Aku's industrialism at 14th level could also take eagle totem to gain a flying speed equal to your movement speed (you drop at the end of it) which fits Jack's anime level hops he needs to reach Aku's face the main problem with that build would be you couldn't concentrate on magic weapon but if you get one in game that be solved . I do like how you stack wisdom with everything in this build making it fit Jack's highly trained and disciplined side as he persuades people with his actions more than words (though samurai are also good a poetry)

What about 6 kensai, 14 barb? Your longsword is magical, you can use strength for attacks and dex and wis for AC. You can recklessly attack and use patient defense in the same turn. Not letting your anger get the best of you. You can use bear rage to power through attacks of all types, and rage plus deflect missles means your practically immune to that 1 attack if your defensive duelist doesnt help you avoid it. Youd have proficiency in dex saves and danger sense. And most importantly, youd have level 14 Eagle totem jumps with step of the wind to really and truly, jump good!

The DM's Guide (pg 41) has a section on how to easily flavor your campaign as an East Asian fantasy campaign as opposed to a Western European fantasy campaign. In this section, a list of alternative names for weapons is included (which is to say, it has names of different weapons in the player's handbook and then the names of Chinese and Japanese weapons that would function similarly). Scimitars were listed as wakizashi for Japanese and liuyedao for Chinese, whereas longswords were listed as katanas (and also as Chinese jian).

First off, I am so glad we finally got to see Jack’s build! I was actually (pleasantly) surprised with your line-up for him, actually. I knew Samurai Fighter would be the bulk of it, I just wondered how deeply you would invest into it. I was more shocked that rather than Kensei Monk, you only did the one level of Monk and then the real loop of the three Levels of War Domain Cleric. I had also expected the Noble Background given that Jack is a prince. However, it makes perfect sense that he would be a part-Cleric given the blessings on his katana and the Folk Hero definitely fits Jack’s reputation, especially by Season Five. Really love this build

This is such an awesome build, very playable and strong. With 7 ASIs/feats there is so much to play with. If saving throws are more of a concern get the Lucky feat to compliment Indomitable . Using fighter's extra ASIs to shore up monk's martial arts is genius. Get in there and shred stuff up. In fact this seems like a good build for TMNT Shredder too!

Bro! Loved the video. Only seen a few episodes of Jack but, from what I saw you did him Justice. On the future vid I would love to see Tifa. DM me how I can join one of your online games if you have one, I can Give some GM tips from time to time as I mostly watch DMing videos, but I play Pathfinder and would love to do a collaborative for the Pathfinder system.

I sure do like Samurai Jack. Watched it when I was a kid, and managed to watch the Season 5 thing - had to cry after the last episode, as it was like a chapter of my childhood closing. Say, do you think that you could make Sir Daniel Fortesque from the MediEvil games? (Did some fan-fiction crossover stories involving him and Samurai Jack some years back) Granted, Skeletons aren't typically a playable race, but the Dungeon Master Guide has the stats for them in an NPC building block on page 282. Goals: 1. Must be good with all weapons and be able to wear armor. 2. Must be both strong and quick, and take a lot of damage, as he has to fight, jump and pull heavy objects. 3. Must be able to use that shield dash ability of his. 4. Must be decently smart as he has to solve a lot of puzzles - or at least smarter than the average skeleton/zombie.

Since Jack himself isn't explicitly trained in casting magic, I prefer a no-spells build that splits him between Samurai Fighter and Kensei Monk to get passively magical swords. I also prefer using a (Kensei Weapon)Longsword with Great Weapon Fighting over a Shortsword with Dueling, since it's more in line with what he does in the show. My personal build (Fighter/11 Monk/9) is kinda tight on ASIs though, with room for exactly 1 feat and 1 feat only if I don't take Variant Human as my race. Maybe I could fit a 2 level dip into Rogue for Cunning Action and Expertise, since while Jack is very nimble, I'm pretty sure he's not quite 9th-level-monk nimble, and he does think on his feet pretty well. He doesn't really benefit from the Sneak Attack, though, since a Kensei or Monk weapon is technically not the same as a Finesse weapon, and it just seems a bit off-theme. Also, it's totally on-theme for his Charisma checks and saves to be low. Maybe not some of his Intelligence checks, but he's not exactly a genius either.

@Darren Whitty Monk and Kensei weapons can't be Heavy, though, so you're losing out on the +10 damage -5 to hit trade that everyone takes Heavy Weapon Mastery for, for a conditional extra attack that takes a bonus action you probably already spent on either Fighting Spirit or a Ki technique, and that you could already do without having to kill something first thanks to an innate monk feature, albeit with a smaller die. I'd consider that a waste of an ASI/Feat. Also, Jack does not do anything explicitly or implicitly mystical beyond what Kensei and Samurai already do, hence the lack of Cleric in my build.

I would agree that is what I would go for as well. This build is great with War Cleric but I think you could dump that and go Kensei. Samurai 16/ Kensai 4 would be perfect! Even Samurai 14/ Kensai 6 if the Kensai 6th level ability appeals to you would not be bad either.

I really wanna build Cable. He is one of my favorite comic book characters and just a great character in general. I’ve been working on a build for him for awhile. Just hoping for maybe some other thoughts/opinion, if it became a video I would absolutely watch. On repeat... like Raph and Daredevil 😏

I was thinking of how you would give him his high durability and strength, or really what race class combo would work best and for race I was thinking Goliath or war forged flavored to look like a human, as his origins are unknown to even him and he needs to be chonky, for class I was thinking a champion fighter multiclass witch dips two levels into Barb but I’m not sure if it would work out that well.

At the begging of the video, I was thinking that some levels of Ranger were coming (after Fighter), because Jack has a Favorite Enemy (Apu). But War Cleric was actually a huge (and positive) suprise.

I would have taken the Observant feat instead. Jack usually wields his sword two handed and Defensive Duelist locks you out of that. Observant bumps your wisdom and passive perception. Alert would also work.
