    Idk. Paladin and Barbarian may be two parts of the same whole, but that doesn't mean mixing them is great. The builds are so different. As a frontliner, neither calculation is great and your dex is bad enough advantage isn't reliable. Someone sell me on this multiclass!

    Fun fact about Mordred, she has 2 noble phantasms, the second is actually her helmet, it makes it so that no one who she didnt tell her identity to will recognize her while she wears it with her armor, if she takes ir off while her armor is on which is required for her noble phantasm, it is possible to be recognized, simply not wearing armor at all also makes her unrecognizable, it's called Secret of Pedigree: Helm of Infidelity

    Personally, I would have made Wisdom the dump stat. Mordred is pretty damn agile and acrobatic despite the heavy armor, and her short fuse combined with her inability to understand why Artoria denied her the throne are what lead to her rebellion and death in the first place.

    I would like to run a Grail War, but I don't know what system to use. What do you think would fit the best? I plan to use servants pre-made by me and the players will be the mages, PvP style. Or I don't know if I try to find 14 players for them to play the servants too 😂

  • @TheMARStudios

    @TheMARStudios

    4 ай бұрын

    @@fredcavalcante1887 Well, gonna start by assuming you know the basics of a Holy Grail War: the structure, the politics, subterfuge, the dynamics between Servant and Master, the Grail, the Root, ect. From there, if you have players already lined up for the idea of a HGW, ask them. Some might want to play Masters, some might prefer being a Servant, or maybe you got a group that all skew in one direction. Unless you have a preference on which they play, then just be sure they're cool with it. Depending on how you're formatting the HGW, you'll likely want to let your players take actions in secret due to how it is a competition. You'll likely want an area map lined up ahead of time for them to explore and hide the locations of players from each other. There is also the unfortunate fact that not all Servants are created equal. For an example, Shakespeare is the same Class as Medea, but comparing them is an insult to Medea. Noble Phantasms and smart players can help bridge that gap, but even Classes and builds in D&D aren't created equally. Then you'll need to figure out some way to handle Noble Phantasms. They can range from the niche to the absurd. The Type Moon wiki has a list if you need inspiration. Last up is that every HGW has some kind of twist it its format that, be it an additional servant, some secret plan a faction put into motion or just the Grail itself acting up. You don't really have to use this last point, but it can be seen as more exciting than a simple tournament.

    Fun fact, you could get cast off armour and run as a Paladin until you run out of spell slots, then take an action to toss it so you can Rage. It would flavour quite nicely with her ability to summon and dismiss her armour at will to.

    Align your fates and raise that sharp sabers to the skies because we are here to commit some betrayal! And while characters like Tangle the lemur encourage teamwork and camaraderie (which would make a good build, Sir Tulok please?), some kings truly need an unhealthy dose of sword wounds. Birthed by the really messed interaction of Arthuria and Morgan le Fay, Mordred, the totally not a druid boy, admired the legacy of the perfect knight and was in extasis when she realized the blood of the king was in her veins, but when Arthuria rejected her she sword vengeance (totally not because the king killed a love interest) and joined Morgana against Camelot, where the tragic journey for king and daughter would reach its end.

    This is quite interesting, I'm recalling now a game I was in. The DM was quite flexible with the 'limitations' of Barbarian Rage being only for activating or casting spells and did not fret about it being affected in armor. So rolls in our our paladin, a Vengeance Oath, used Haste as their Action and then Raged with their Bonus Action. The paladin was of Kalisdar? heritage. Gave them resistance to Psychic Damage. Also took the path of the Totem Warrior and RPed it that their armor had the tattoos and symbols of their Primal Path. So what did our party have? A damn near unstoppable juggernaut tank of pain, fury, and a lot of heavy smites. It was an epic campaign and her character was: 16 Paladin of Vengeance and 4 Totem Barbarian.

    This is great, and I can see a lot of promise in it was half expecting them to be a treachery (not very thematic but does fit with their title), conquest or even vengeance pally though considering their lore and the skill set that it gives. One work around for the heavy armour which is still very thematic and should your DM allow would be to have cast off armour that way you can still have the bonuses of barb should your stats allow and the AC of a pally. Personally I'd say Clarent is a long sword as well so it could allow for unarmed fighting to be taken since Mordred also loves just a good bare knuckle brawl. But all in all you've helped me build on my own Mordred build and given me a couple more ideas for other Fate characters.

    @@JohnShepherd117 Nope, nothing wrong! jokes aside, I know XD. The whole point of Fate's Camelot lore is everyone is a tragic hero, almost everyone fucked up somewhere along the line, and it was always going to end in a tragic disaster from the moment Artoria gave up emotions for the greater good, sacrificing themself for the needs of the many. Mordred's Tragedy is about hero worship and what a broken pedestal can do to someone, and about the dangers of loving without understanding. They were a quick-grown homunculus clone, never given proper emotional understanding or support and placed in the court as a ticking time bomb. But the plan went off the rails when they became completely and utterly, blindly and unquestionably loving of a King who could never return that feeling. So when Mordred was finally informed of their relation to Artoria, they saw it as amazing news- they were the child to their idol. And Artoria, a cold logic machine of a King who could not understand the human heart, told them they would refuse to recognize them, breaking Mordred's heart. When the people rebelled, they put Mordred at the head of their army, and at Camlann Mordred confronted Artoria- who spurned them again and said they would never be worthy before impaling them and turning their back on Mordred's last attempt to get some comfort or recognition. Only then did Mordred's corpse animate and lethally wound Artoria. Mordred isn't evil. They never were. They were incredibly and deeply hurt and never taught to understand the difference because Morgan needed a tool, not a child. Like I said, EVERY character in Fate Camelot is the protagonist of their own personal tragedy.

    @@Malicebane huh I honestly thought you were one of those Mordred was innocent and did nothing wrong and Artoria was the one who doomed Britain type but that is actually a very good synopsis of the fall of Britain every one screwed up one way or the other personally tho I think Morgan is the most responsible since if Mordred was born from Guinevere like she was supposed to be a lot of mistakes would be undone

  • @Malicebane

    @Malicebane

    Жыл бұрын

    @@JohnShepherd117 oh yeah, for sure. Nah, I was just memeing honestly. I love fate and Camelot lore and just cause Mordred is my favorite Saber doesn't mean I'm not willing to be objective. Morgan's definitely eh most responsible since she actively took steps to instigate the fall of Camelot, but part of Artoria's whole tragedy in Fate has always read to me as "A King can NOT be a king without emotions and the ability to understand the human heart, no matter how logical they are." By being forced to give up her emotions in order to draw Caliburn in the first place, Camelot was doomed to fall one way or the other eventually- but Artoria's desire was a noble one and I would never legitimately lay the blame at her feet for everything bad that happened.

    Could you do the Halo Wars/Halo Wars 2 Arbiter? I have a feeling that he'd be a mix of Paladin/Barbarian/Fighter/Bladesinger/Blood Hunter

    Actually, rather then undead, if it was my table, I’d rule Servants as “Constructs”, given that they’re actual self is a pseudo deity in a dimension beyond time and space, and this is just a projection of them made through magic. … fate lore is a heck of a drug.

    I made a build similar to this, but my guy is an Aasimar, L4 Path of the Zealot Barbarian - L4 Champion Fighter - L5 Oath of Vengeance Paladin, who absolutely hates using his magic for spellcasting, primarily because he's not very good at it. He mostly only uses his spell slots for Divine Smite. Could you do a build for Toriko (from Toriko) or Flex Mentallo (from Doom Patrol)? Is there even a way to use Strength as your spellcasting ability in D&D?

    Okay my guess without knowing anything about this series I’m thinking some kind of Fighter/sorcerer build? Maybe bard. I just know a high con and a probably maybe a couple monk levels for extra speed but idk 🤷🏾

    Loving the Type-Moon appreciation! God there's so many characters I'd love to see. Shirou Emiya (and by extention Archer EMIYA lol) is pretty up there, but I'd think an interesting one would be Shiki Tohno. Granted, Idk what footage Tulok would get for a Tsukihime build considering it's just the VN, so I'll just hold out hope for my main boy Shirou/Archer to get a build

    For possible sources of Shiki Tohno footage, there is game play from the Melty Blood games and scenes from the Carnival Phantasm OVAs.

    Honestly, since the Gil video, i have been theorizing about it since Tulok didn't do another Fate build (until now). In my mind, there's two good choices. Version A: 15 lvls Creation Bard/5 Lvls Eldritch Knight Fighter Pros: -You can trace on any weapon you see (non-magical though, although it would fit the lore of being "inferior" to the original model) with Creation Bard main ability. -Weapon Bond for Kanshou/Byakuya or at least the Bow. -By getting to 15 levels of Bard you get Demiplane, and can use Magical Secrets to get Glyph of Warding, and make a very decent recreation of Unlimited Blade Works. -Animate Objects + Creating a max of 5 weapons is a good combo. Cons: -Honestly, Bard is a great class, and one of the best spellcasters, which... It means it doesn't fit well with EMIYA, the mediocre spellcaster only specialized in Projection and reinforcement. -Also the other Bard features are out of character for Archer, as well as it asks you to invest 14 levels of Bard to be able to create more than one object and 15 to get Demiplane.

  • @arcangherss999

    @arcangherss999

    Version 2 is not that different: Hexblade Warlock (15) / Eldritch Knight Fighter (5) Pros: -Pact of the Blade/Improved Pact Weapon allows you to make any weapon that you want and you will be proficient with it, deciding previous to any encounter what kind of weapon you want. As long as you don't fuse it with any magical weapons, you can change the weapon whenever you want. -Eldritch Smite can count as a reinforcement and the overload of copied Noble Phantasms. -You still get Demiplane, so you can still make a decent representation of Unlimited Blade Works. -Still get Weapon Bond, but not you also get a Pact Weapon, so you can have two swords bonded as an Eldritch Knight and your Pact Weapon can be your Bow, no need to carry weapons anywhere when you can just summon them. -Very little Spell slots actually fits the Character as EMIYA is not a very good spellcaster. -Can flavor Eldritch Blast as spectral weapons blasted from the bow. -Eldritch Invocations allow you to reproduce some of EMIYA's abilities as Invisibility or Archer's sight Cons: -No Glyph of Warding in this build, so no automatic weapons in the Demiplane. -You can only reproduce one weapon at the time with your Pact Weapon. -Most of Archer's abilities come through flavoring other abilities.

    I see Mordred as a Fighter/Barbarian. Paladins either get their powers from oaths or gods. Mordred is a known oathbreaker and doesn't fight like a knight. Her style is the basic swordmanship+her instinct+battle expirence+cheap tactics.

    Tulok ~ "If Frankenstein can be a servant, so can Sonic." This comment inspired me to makeup a roster of Nintendo/Smash-Bros x Fate Stay Night characters. I'll be sticking to the core/main seven classes. Feel free to like and comment on the choices that I made or what/who you would've chosen. *For the Saber Class of servant = Link, from the "Legend of Zelda" franchise. *For the Lancer Class of servant = Samus Aran, from the "Metroid" franchise. *For the Archer Class of servant = Pit, from the "Kid Icarus" franchise. *For the Rider Class of servant = Captain Falcon, from the "F-Zero" franchise. *For the Caster Class of servant = Cereza, from the "Bayonetta" franchise. *For the Assassin Class of servant = Solid Snake, from the "Metal Gear" franchise. *For the Berserker Class of servant = Donkey Kong, from the "Donkey Kong" franchise.

    I feel like Link would more likely be a rider due to his kit and the many 'mounts' he's had through the games, Saber's (lore wise) usually only have their sword and maybe a few throwing knives or something skill wise, Riders can have a plethora of noble phantasm's they can summon and use freely. Bland as it is Saber probably goes to Marth or one of the other Fire Emblem characters though Meta-Knight, Cloud, Sephiroth and probably the Xenoblade cast would be eligible for Saber. Side note: Caster Ganondorf is possible lore wise... Which sounds pretty interesting.
