How to Play Like Rodrigo Y Gabriela (Rumba Lesson 1)

Музыка

TIP: ko-fi.com/thguitarist
Hi everyone, I get asked a lot about the techniques I use for acoustic playing, so I've now started rumba video lessons too. This first one focusses on the strumming and percussion from the right hand. I hope you enjoy it. Like, share & comment. Cheers

Hi Toby! Thank you very much for the Lesson. The pattern of 3:30 is the same as Michael Rajab La Tounga Pattern? Do you know the chords of La Tounga? Thank you

+tiershirt Hi, Yeah that's pretty much the same strumming pattern. Yo can do variations on it too ;) I can't remember the chords but I don't think they were too hard.

Hey Toby, does it make a difference on what chords you use. For the rumba?

Is it possible to play such this also on acoustic guitar? Not on classic.

Hi, yes it's possible, the concept is the same but you may find it a bit painful for a while.

Hi, and thanks. It can make certain parts of it tricky but you don't have to have them very long. I try to keep mine quite short just so they're poking out a tiny bit over the tip of my finger, if i'm looking at my hand (palm side), but you could go shorter than that. You can always try it out, you may just get caught on the string a little bit. Maybe it'll be fine. Sorry, i never played this style without them so it's hard to say. Good luck ;)

hey thx a lot for your answer, I think my problems with the triplet derive from my short finger nails, i kinda get stuck with the thumb every now and then, anyway, keep making these great videos! bye
