RULES:
The object of the game is out bluff your opponents. You can play for fun, with money, or as a drinking game. Liar’s dice can be played by 2 or more players.
Setup. Give each player a cup and 5 dice. Each player rolls 2 dice and the person with the highest combined value will start the first round. Alternately, the starting player can be determined by rock, paper, scissors.
At the onset of each round, every player puts their dice in their cup, shakes them, then flips their cups upside down, trapping the dice against the table. Each player secretly looks at their dice but keeps them hidden from their opponents.
Beginning with the start player then going clockwise, each player calls out a quantity of a certain dice face value that have supposedly been rolled by all the players collectively. For example, “four 3’s” means that you claim there are at least four dice with a face value of 3 amongst all the players. Each player then subsequently calls out a higher hand than the previous. Either the number of identical dice must be higher and/or the face value must be larger. The number of identical dice cannot be lower.
For example: Two 3’s is greater than two 2’s. Three 3’s is greater than two 3’s. Four 2’s is greater than three 3’s. Five 4’s is greater than four 2’s
1’s are wild and can represent any face value in a call. The exception is if the first call in the round has a 1 in it. For example, if the first player of the round calls two 1’s, then for the rest of the round, a 1 can only represent the face value of 1 and no other number.
Instead of calling out a higher hand on your turn, you can call a bluff on the previous player by saying “open” or “liar”. When this is done all the dice are revealed. If there are not enough dice amongst all the players that match the claim, the challenged player loses that round. But if there are enough dice to match the claim, then the challenger loses the round.
A bluff can also be called out of turn. However, when this is done, the loser stakes are doubled. Everyone re-rolls and the process repeats with the loser from the previous round starting off the next.

For everybody here from Davy Jones, there was one important rule difference that drastically affected the game. In POTC, the rule that you could call somebody a liar even if it wasn’t your turn wasn’t in use. This was important because it meant that Jones could never call out Will. Bootstrap put himself purposefully in the seat where he knew that the order of play would protect Will no matter what. By the order of play, Davy Jones could only call out Bootstrap, Bootstrap could only call out Will, and Will could only call out Davy Jones. Since Bootstrap would obviously never call out his son, Will was permanently protected. The only reason that Will played the game was to find out where the key was, so the game was just a calculated attack on Davy Jones that used his own ego against him.

Actually I don't really think that to be the case. How I viewed it was that the Dutchman was going to call out will yet his arrogance let him to gloat beforehand which turned out to be his downfall giving wills father the time to intervein. But you are correct how the order was extremely important for wills father, as he wouldn't be able to cast the dies if he was after Dutchman. This theory keeps all of the good stuff that comes with wills fathers positioning but just adds on how Davy Jones arrogance betrays himself. Personally this is my absolute favorite scene from the movie as all three of them entered the game with different goals all of them achieved their own goal yet the person who lost the most in the end happened to win the game. Davy Jones not looking into the deeper picture and seeing the winning the game wasn't the most important thing made him the biggest loser. All in all 10/10 for that writing

We play that you just lose a die if you’re called out or make a bad call and just play till one person is left. Also if anyone has one die left we play a “truth clause” where instead of calling someone a liar, you can call “truth” and if you’re exactly right then nothing happens and a new round starts.

I play in a group of about 5-6 players, we don’t really like the losing a die part so what we do is when a player loses a round, they’re out for the game and everyone rolls again, and the last player remaining wins that game. To win the entire game, you have to win 2 or 3 games, it’s not standard at all but we vastly prefer it to losing die

I can't find anyone explaining the rules for betting on the wilds. I read on BGG that you can to half the number of the previous bet or, if the previous bet was the number of wilds, then you can increase that bet or increase the bet by doubling that and adding one for other dice faces. For example: -The previous bet was 4 x 3s: You can bet 2 ones (wilds) (4 / 2 = 2) -The previous bet was 3 ones (wild): You can bet 7 x 3s. (3 x 2 plus 1) Is this correct and are there any other rules for that?

Information is contradictory between the examples and the slide that explains the rules in words. The slide with words says "Number of identical dice must be higher (I.E. 3-4's can be raised to 4-4's or 4-5's or 4-2's) but then it uses and/or and says "The face value must be higher". The and is clear but with the "OR" that could mean that 3-4's can be raised by 2-5's because the face value is bigger even though the quantity isn't. Is this the real rule? Later in the dice examples the OR scenario is never covered.

No. You have to up the previous bet. If the bet was 3 2s, then your bet should be higher e.g. 3 3s or 4 2s. You cant go back to 2 3s.

@@magicmaster4094 A rule of thumb is that the number of dice may *never* go down. If it was possible for the number of dice to go down, for the tradeoff that the face value goes up, then every game would end in "how many 6's/1's are there" which isn't the point of the game. The probability always has to decrease from bet to bet, the chances of there being 4 2's is lower than 3 3's, which makes the 4 2's a higher bet. The variant rules allowing you to go down in dice from a bet is mathematically broken and is not how it's intended to play.

It's a game built around lying to your opponents. Each player rolls their 5 dice. Each player takes it in turn to make a claim. E.g. "There are at least 4 Fives rolled by all players". The claim itself must get progressively more and more unlikely as the game goes on, the rules of which are stated in the video. If a claim is made that seems unrealistic (either based on the information provided by your dice or simply due to maths) you can call them out on it. If they are wrong about their claim, you win. If they are correct about their claim, you lose.

Instead of saying "but keep them hidden from their opponnents", you could be saying "but not at the opponent's".

The shotgun is more difficult to move tactically with when clearing or escaping. It requires more CQC training to learn to operate long guns in hallways and small spaces. It’s also less than ideal for smaller person or lesser trained spouse. Most tactical operators are using a shotgun as a breaching tool, it has other uses obviously. Destroying a target is important but over penetration and consideration for who else is in the home also factor in. You have to be trained, in control, and responsible for where each round ends up.
