RULES:
The object of the game is to place the last block on the tower without it falling. Place 3 blocks per layer, alternating direction by layer, into the stacking sleeve until all the blocks are used. Stack the tower onto a flat surface. Pick a player order, then rotate turns. On your turn, you must use 1 hand to remove a single block from anywhere below the highest completed layer in the tower. You may not touch with the other hand but you are allowed to switch hands. You are allowed to touch blocks to find a loose one, but you must return them to their original position if you don’t pull it.
After pulling a tower, place that block on top of the tower, completing the current layer before forming a new one, being sure to alternate directions. Your turn ends 5 seconds after you place a block or as soon as the next player touches a block. If the tower falls on your turn, then the player right before you is the winner.

Howdy! Can you do a Jenga Octagon?
I did not know about the time limit rule either. All I do know is that I used to dread playing this game because I was afraid I would get hurt when the tower would fall down. (Fortunately, that didn't happen.)

Try using the rule: "you touch it, you pull it" for a more volatile and suspenseful Djenga experience
What do you mean 2024 rules? How have there been enough changes in jenga to ever necessitate a new rules explanation?

The nature of Jenga is that it will always eventually fall. The "you have to take blocks below the top level" and "you have to place blocks on the top level" rules mean that the tower will always be steadily getting higher, with more and more gaps below it. Even if you're all incredibly good players, you'll eventually reach a point where there simply aren't any blocks left lower down that are safe to remove, everything is load-bearing. The only way the tower can never fall is if you just stop playing, and then the same thing happens as if you do that in any other game; nothing.

The best case scenario is that every layer has one block, (the middle block) and at that point someone has to either break the rules or topple the tower.
