    PartyMarty, thank you! As a Lyle Lovett fan I greatly appreciate this. Could you cover his version of In My Own Mind? Also should be very easy one, capo on 3rd and G, C and D chords from what I see. It is the hammer on and hammer offs in the song that is throwing me and doesn't sound right....figure I would ask you about it and add another easy one to the list. Either way, thank you for all you do! Keep it up!

    +PartyMarty EasyGuitarTunes Hey, thanks so much! I play in a band and have had the bug for it sice I was about 12. First the Beatles, Stones, CCR...then the Eagles (I used to be an Eagles encyclopedia), Led Zep, Aerosmith...and now lots of very tasty country along with rock. We manage to get in about a half dozen acoustic songs in a performance...would love to work this in.

    Check out a live video where you can see what Lyle is playing. He plays a D/F# and he also does a hammer on of the low F# to G on many of the G chords.

    Or, to avoid having to use your thumb you can just play a Dsus2/F# and stick with the very simple fretting sequences. That Dmaj just kind of sticks out like a sore thumb compared to the Dsus2/F#.

    Hello there :) ,that was a lovely cover mate ! Could you please explain the strumming pattern you use ?

  • @partymartyeasyguitartunes1711

    @partymartyeasyguitartunes1711

    7 жыл бұрын

    It's a lightly strummed pattern. The basic trick is where I strum the top strings of the chord but on the fourth beat I strum the bottom string. It's just a simple up - down strum with the bottom string on the 4th beat. I hope that helps

    Thanks for the video! I'm confused about your C chord, though. I usually play C with the first finger on the second string, first fret, and that's how you show it in your C chord tutorial. But here you never play anything in the first fret. Are you using a different shape for C? Also, what's the fingering for the run? Thanks again!

  • @partymartyeasyguitartunes1711

    @partymartyeasyguitartunes1711

    9 жыл бұрын

    levyj413 You are exactly right, It is a different variation of C. As you know, you can play guitar chords many different ways, this song calls for C to be played that way. The fingering is index finger - D string, 2nd fret, 2nd finger A string, 3rd fret, 3rd finger is B string 3rd fret, baby finger is e string 3rd fret. The run is a 3 note run from C to G as shown in the vid. Note 1 - full 4 finger C Chord, Note 2 - while keeping the C shape, just move your index finger up a string in the 2nd fret, 3rd note - full 4 finger G chord. I hope this helps, good luck
