I've done a bunch of your lessons. You are the greatest because: Minimum of chatter and "what finger goes where" BS. You get into challenging songs that are totally classic. You break it down in digestable pieces. Thanks, man. I can play it and I have little elf hands.

I have to say your the best one I've seen or heard.. every song you play is dead on and your sound is perfect ....
Excellent job on the song. This is the first time i watch a full tutorial and my ears aren't falling off. Very good teaching skills.
I really appreciate your teaching. This is one of my favorite songs by an incredible guitarist. Even with my years of playing, this song has never been easy because of the stretch involved. Thanks to your method of teaching I've finally overcome this hurdle!! Keep up the great work

Shutup & Play - guitar tutorials i would love to know which amp you used to get that sound. I‘m monitoring my guitar in peopellerheads reason 10 and trying to get that little delay or wah sound that’s in there. Thanks a lot💯
Man, much respect ! Us old album guys had to do some major needle scratching! Love the pickup tapping in your Les Paul !
Damn Andy this is GREAT! Thank you. As always, when I need release from feeling stuck, frustrated or just tired of trying to learn anything that remotely resembles a guitar song you are the Instructor I look for! 📌🎸❤️🎸👍🏽👍🏽 📌
Man, your lessons are really good for those who can already play and get their fingers into place!
I also loved the lesson and I always love the tips about how to get the right sound. I'd like to add that it's nice to see a comment section without butt holes spewing ignorance and hate. It's nice to see.
I just want to say, thank you! Thank you for sharing and explaining how to play these songs so good. You rock man, I hope you keep doing this. Jan 🤘 (from the Netherlands)
Andy does Andy. Andy never fails to deliver. Great lesson. Thank you!!!
Superb lesson for a superb piece of playing! Well done teacher!
Killer guitar sound
Well done! First video by you I've seen, and I will look for more! Great job!
Sting is a brilliant songwriter obviously, but what Andy Summers adds is not to be underestimated! Love it :)

tallulah2 Hey man, you're welcome for the lesson, I appreciate you watching!
I was struggling quite a bit with the F#m but found a much easier shape for myself with small hands. Instead of playing 246 and reaching back for 2 on the G string, fretting 2 with my middle finger 4 with my pinkie skipping the D string and fretting 1 on the G string reaching back with my middle finger to for the 2 to be much easier. Thanks!
Thanks very good I was trying to play your old way .Great
Outstanding lesson. Tnx
very beautiful sound you got there mate!!!
Thanks so much for the fingering tip, I was killing myself on the stretch and thought I had some kind of anatomical problem!
Thank you !!!

I remember when I sat down to figure this out a few years ago...I thought I was doing something wrong and thinking "He's not really playing it like THAT is he?!", started looking for alternate tunings, etc. lol Thanks for the great videos!
Nice! Very good!
This is best tutorial in KZread ever.

gabbagabba321 Hey bud, thanks for the kind words. Marty and Justin have earned everything they've accomplished on youtube. They are both really hard workers and have put in a huge amount of time and energy for quite a few years now. So I admire those guys quite a lot. Hopefully my channel will get bigger too, but we'll see I guess. cheers
Thanks
Another amazing lesson as usual. I often watch your channel looking for some lesson, but above all I really enjoy watching your skillful playing! Thanks a lot and keep it up! Oh and sorry if I had a mistake, my native language is Spanish! Cheers!

Great job ! Do you have the same in finger style such as Sting does it in acoustic vidéos ? Thank's
Earned a sub. + like! love it!
Thanks for this amazing tutorial sir, I would be very thankful if you made a lesson for Thought I'd died and gone to heaven by Bryan Adams an acoustic version
In order to play along with the album version I used ReaPitch plugin (free) in Reaper DAW and found increasing the shift in Cents by 46.58 to be close to the record in pitch and saves you having to retune your guitar. Im sure other pitch software/plugins can achieve this so I figured you could try with that number and play around. The original is in 452hz as far as I can tell so this will allow you in 440hz to play along nicely.
Awesome...

Do you have any video's on how to grab that DREAMY echo sound? I have a splitter between my amp and speaker cab where I send the sound from that box to the input of a second amp... Ummm, I get a great sound but nothing like you have... Any suggestions?
Ever thought about a video for 'Edge of Desire' by John Mayer? This is so much like that song
fantastic! thanks :^)
...great job ....and it also shows you how great Andy Summers was ...or is....
Suuuuper !!
Wow ! I got it. I was playing something totally different ! 😨 thanks 👍🎸🎸🎸
One thing I love about guitar, it's a lot of fun to play and rock out with. Not to mention it helps make bass pretty easy to play as well. The things i hate in a way, It's a bitch to learn stuff if you don't know what you're doing (me when i started out), and it takes serious dedication to get really good. As Jimi Hendrix put it "Sometimes you want to give up the guitar, you'll hate the guitar. But if you stick with it, you're gonna be rewarded."

Everything you said is true! Anyone who has acquired even moderate skills on the guitar will have at least once, probably a lot more than once, wanted to either throw the guitar out the window, or smash it into bits and use it for firewood! cheers

Just discovered your channel. Very good. On the F and G chord, there is two harmonics done by Summers, don't you?
you make it look easy.
Could you please do a lesson on White Dove by Dorje?
The melody has a feeling of reality, which suits the honesty and nakedness of the lyrics.
Hey Andy, any chance an alternate tuning would help. Maybe starting drop E to D, or D#. Might tighten the pattern. Just a thought
Good lessons. Try all downstrokes on the opening section :)
Having trouble lifting my pinky and is muting the G string what you recommend

Great video as always, but why not quickly mention what effects you are using on ALL your vids?
The Police's most interesting work is definitely their second album ... songs like Bring On the Night, Deathwish, Regatta De Blanc ...
nice :-) greetings
Hello, can I use your cover for a short film?
The stretches are less with the shorter scale length on LP style guitars.
perfectamente explicado...
overdub on The end is Just a A triad?
just discovered this channel, really great, accurate parts and your tones are also fantastic, can I ask what you use..? greetings from Ireland.

gerryguitar Hey Gerry, thanks so much for the kind words bro!
I have large hands but I can't reach on the F#m, so far! I need to get looser fingers to play this.
As I was working on this, I noticed that is extraordinarily similar to, walk this way, Aerosmith.
I made my first guitar back in 1967, found old neck in dumpster behind a music store. Took it to wood shop and the rest was history. No idea what I did with it, I went into the Army in 1969 & lost track. Thank U for your online lessons. I appreciate them, just found your site on the Tube. I will show this to my daughter and have her practice your goods. Dustoff85. I retired from Army in 1997, was recalled back on duty in 2007 and retired second time in 2010, I flew Blackhawks, now I fly EMS Helicopters. What state r u from?
