Thank you so much!! 🙏
A concept that wasn't obvious to me when I was first starting is that true 8th notes are typically swung, but 16th note lines are typically with straight (or very close to straight) 16th notes. Taking a long 2-5-1 lick and playing with a triplet subdivision makes it feel just like a normal 8th note line. But if you simply straighten the line out, it immediately takes on a 16th note feel.
Dave, I have watched your videos and teaching style for years and have used your techniques in teaching other students to improvise. Thank you for your dedication to music education and jazz excellence!

I really appreciate the kind words! 🙏
Thank you so much ! I'm finishing up my undergrad in Performance and music ed. I realized even in improv classes there's not enough on how to work up double-time. I'm excited to try this !

Nice explanation, awesome examples, helpful advice! Thank you for the great content. I have a question, how does the M-Series compare to the daddy-o or the Meyer? Are you playing a 5? I have a 7 M-Series and the resistance was somewhat of a turnoff even though it sounds great. Would love to hear your thoughts. You sound great!
Bravoooo!

Sounds like STANLY T to me Great sound sounds like you cooked that chicken SMOKIN
Hmm...getting hung up here and admittedly somewhat weak on theory. Can you clarify if the 1 chord is C7 as shown - I usually see it as Cmaj7 (I think...). Thanks, as always, Dave. Good stuff.

For a regular 12 bar blues the I chord is dominant 7, not major. You *could* have it as major 7, but it’s usually dominant.
Took 18 minutes to say that playing a double time line is basically just a long 251 sped up. Absolutely genius. Love the videos man ❤ Edit: this was not meant to be sarcasm, really great teaching and comprehensive work
thank you for your work, Now it's a question of articulation it's not "easy" to articulate or swing if you could teach about this?

Yeah, the most unclear thing for me about playing double time is articulation... My tongue is slower than my fingers :/

Was just wondering at 7:33 are you just playing straight 8 notes or is swing or shuffle feel to it?
