After watching, "The Queen's Gambit", I want to play the game. Fantastic movie series! I think 'trials' you set up, to go through all the permutations of one dilemma. I would very much like to set up a game and be led, step by step, through the THINKING of Chess. This would make oh so much sense to me. I love being tested and THAT is where we learn the best and fastest. If you chess people have not watched Queen's Gambit, I am telling you I think you would eat it up!

I think it's 10 min 54 sec because the intro of 6 sec then chess puzzle for 10 sec and asking for subscribe was 10 sec. So, 11mins 26 sec minus 6+10+10 is equal to 11 mins . So, explaination was of 11mins and also I shut my eyelids once in 10 seconds So, I saw the video for 10 mins 54 sec. If you all guys loved my logic then plz like this and comment below.

One of my three targets for this year was to learn to play chess. So I decided to help out at chess club at school (primary). It is not as easy as I thought, but I am persevering and the children love it that there is an adult who can't do something that they can! I have told them that three letter word rule still applies to chess as in class...YET! Your video has helped me understand the checkmate rule and I know I have a long way to go but am determined to reach my target no matter how long it takes. Thank you.

Thank you so much for pretty clear explanation and covering all the points Question 1: @ castling .... what if king already met with check in few steps before the time to castling.... explain with this two conditions.... condition 1: king did not move in earlier check. Question 2: must say check or check mate Q1: Do the player has to say it verbally ... Q2 :what if he did not say... is there any chance for opponent to concider it as non check and take advantage of it. Q3: what if the check and check mate are said interchanble ...does opponent get advatage here as well. Q3: what if after seeing the check also opponent made a wrong move Question 3: can you cover how to calulate points. condition1: when it is stalemate or other kind of draw ... still the reamaining pieces gets their points or both players get equal points. please give some more clarity in these bits. Thank you. Question 4: the 50 moves . Does each get 50 moves each or 25 moves per player.

I have done multiple searches looking for "beginner chess tutorials" and so many results seem so overly complicated or too simple. This video series is the perfect middle ground for someone who may know the basics of chess (such as I) but haven't yet built a solid foundation of tactics and strategy just yet. Bravo and good job on these videos.

I started playing as a kid and when someone broke in and stole the set (it was beautiful - all marble), it was never replaced and I find myself relearning the game as an adult on the computer. A tactics book puzzle book that you and your kids will enjoy and help them and you improve is world champion's guide to chess by susan polgar. The way chess teacher help kids improve at chess tactics is by showing to them tactics example and after that let them solve at least 2 puzzles a day. If they can't find the answer, you will show the solution and let them try solving again the same puzzle next day. This builds pattern recognition. Set up on the board the puzzles.
