Played this game this afternoon at a gaming event and had a blast! This game is not just for kids, we were a group of 6 adults all in our 30s or 40s and it kept us thoroughly entertained for an hour. I would highly recommend this game! 👍

Such a great game! I love it. It's become my family and circle of friends' favorite RPG-themed board game. The expansions that came out after this make it even greater. I"ve even played it with my wife's first grade class (groups of them at a time anyway) and they loved it. They had trouble keeping track of the rules and what to do by themselves and I had to guide them along, but now I see that you've made a 'My First Castle Panic' which looks like it's solved those issues. Very thoughtful. I especially love the Wizard's Tower with all of the crazy spells and new monsters! I'm about to get the Munchkin Panic game and am trying to decide whether to get the whole game from my local game store, or to order the parts from the online store that (as far as I can tell) are what you need to turn basic Castle Panic into Munchkin Panic. On the one hand, I could save a little money, assuming the parts in the web store are all I need, on the other hand, I want to support my FLGS by getting the full game there. Decisions, decisions! Now, I see that you're going all out on improving the artwork, game pieces, etc. and tweaking the rules. I'm looking forward to seeing what that is like. I do have a question though. I've heard that the Deluxe version won't ever be in stores or on the website after the Kickstarter phases are over. Is that right? I'm rather reluctant to order a game that isn't available on shelves yet. I looked at the website (9/13/2021) and am still not clear on that. I'm hoping that the deluxe aspects of the game will still be available in the web store like parts for your other great games are. I love that about your studio - that we can get replacement, or extra pieces without having to buy another whole copy of a game. I love minis that I can hold and paint, so I'm looking forward to one of the deluxe versions with the plastic minis, or to being able to get the minis separately on the web store.

Hi John, We're so glad to hear you are enjoying all things Castle Panic! The Deluxe version will not be available at your local game store, outside of any stores that backed our Kickstarter. We will however have "some" copies for sale on our website, but they will be in very limited numbers, so it will definitely be a "first come, first served" basis. As for deluxe components, that's hard to say. We are not planning on stocking deluxe pieces separately, but there may be some extras or leftovers that we sell on the website. I hope lots of stores get the retail level ones, enough to encourage you to go beyond the kickstarter.

I haven't got the game yet but I already know how to play, your video explained everything perfectly. I am planning to get the game soon.

I just bought this game yesterday and we played our first game. It was great fun! Good to know that I understood the instructions properly. We one our first game clutch with only one tower thanks to a late Swordsman draw 😃

love the game and hope there are more add-ons for this game down the road with more boss monsters and maybe some undead things.

Thank you! Sure, in the Overlord Mode, you play as the monsters against the other team members, who are playing together to protect the Castle. As the monster overlord, you get to draw 3 tokens during the Draw 2 Tokens phase and choose which 2 to place randomly or choose 1 to place in any arc you would like to. It's a lot of fun!

Should I get dark titan of engines of war? Also, can you play all 3 expansions together? Or is the wizard tower the only one compatible with the other expansions?

You sure can play all the expansions at once. It's a wild ride to be sure, but the rules are written very well in each expansion so it doesn't become too overwhelming. We had a little trouble keeping track of what to do with Engines of War, but once we figured it out, it was fun. The other expansions are quite fun but more straightforward with less confusion than Engines of War. If you only get one expansion, I'd get The Wizard's Tower because of the fun spells and extra monsters, but they are reasonably priced, so it's not too pricey to get them all.

Hi, Duncan! Yes, there is one Huge Rock in Munchkin Panic but 4 Giant Boulders in Castle Panic. There are other offsets in Munchkin Panic that made having 4 Huge Rocks too difficult. Hope you are enjoying the game!

Would you say this game takes longer or shorter than Pandemic? I am looking to play this with students in 15 minute increments.

I would say shorter. Once you know what you are doing, you can play it in about 30 minutes.

Helpful but also wanting to see a successful game. I played this with kids, and at the end of the second round no one had any cards left and monsters knocking at the walls. After a few more rounds with 1 card each it was hopeless. Each turn only getting 1 card, and takes more than 1 card to take out monsters, and 2 monsters per turn or worse....

Hi, Goofnic! It looks like you guys aren't drawing up to a full hand. Make sure you are drawing up to a full hand at the beginning of your turn. For example, if you are playing a four-player game, draw 5 cards at the beginning of your turn. Hope that helps!

The 3 of us each had 5 cards. Again, taking an average of 2 cards per monster, 6 monsters plus 2 monsters per round but only getting 1 card.

You start with 5 cards and 6 Monsters on the board. Then you can manage your hand by discarding and drawing a card and by trading 1 card with 1 other player. Next, you play cards on Monsters (sounds like you were averaging 2 cards per Monster). Then all the Monsters left on the board move forward 1 space (into the Knight ring), and you add 2 Monsters to the Forest. Everyone else playing goes through the same steps in turn order. Then, on your next turn, you draw up to a full hand. So, if you ended your last turn with 2 cards left in your hand, you draw 3 more cards so that you now have 5. Then you discard and draw, trade, play cards, move Monsters, and place 2 more Monsters in the Forest again. You mentioned only getting 1 card. Where is that happening in this process?

What bugs me is how the quick reference says “draw 2 monsters” and not “draw 2 monster TOKENS” Honestly draw until you get 2 monsters would be a nice mechanic, it would make the game harder.

@@maxwellschultz4784 Agreed! Modifying games and their rules can be fun and extends re-playability. I've tried what you suggested, Zem, and it really works. There's all sorts of ways to make the game easier or harder depending on who you are playing it with which is wonderful.

Yes. It's my favorite way to play it. It's like playing a tower defense game on my tablet, only at my own pace which is wonderful. I love video games, but sometimes they become so fast and frantic that I just can't handle it and need a turn-based game like this tabletop game to take a break from the craziness. Speaking of which, it would be cool if they made a turn-based mobile game and/or PC/console game of Castle Panic that people could play together online, especially these days with quarantines and such.

Disappointed as this video does a poor job of explaining turn order aside from the first player..... Very confusing and it feels incomplete.
