I may be your oldest student. I am over 75 years trying to learn the Keyboard which I wanted to do when I was in School. I was born and lived in Srilanka and moved to Australia 20 years ago. Your lessons are very professional. I am trying hard to play using with both hands. I hope I will succeed. Trying hard.

After learning C major scale. Which scale should i learn next? Do you have to learn L and R and together for each scale? Keep these coming, really enjoying them. Can't play any 'tunes' yet but hoping that working through all these vids will help me get a 'tune' out one day.

  • @PianoFromScratch

Hi Phillip, I would learn G major next, then D, A and E. Those all add an extra sharp black key each time but still use the same finger pattern. You could also throw in F somewhere in there as it has 1 black (a flat this time) To learn more, I actually put up a blog post on which order to learn scales. You can be flexible how you do things but it makes most sense to start with those few I believe pianofs.com/the-best-scales-to-learn-first-on-piano-a-helpful-guide/ I would just add that it's worth starting some simple real music too as soon as you feel ready

Oh and you asked about L and R, as a beginner, do left and right separately before putting them together
