I know you posted this a year ago, but I recently moved into zone 7, and I'm impressed with how much I learned about planting English Lavender into a container by watching the first 2 minutes into your video, you are straight to the point! Thank you!

Where do you put them during the winter? Do you bring the pots indoors? I live in Ohio. All of my plants are in the ground, if I plant some in containers, will I have to bring indoors in winter?

I’ve noticed the weed cloth in lavender farm videos …..is it necessary if I have 14 plants in my flower bed? What the rationale, other than keeping weeds out?

I live in zone 4B (South Dakota) so lavender is an annual here. If I trim it back after planting I’m not sure I’ll have enough growth time for blooms. I have overwintered a Spanish lavender successfully so will be trimming it back just a bit. Thanks!!

thanks for the tips......I had heard you should cut back some of the growth and any flowers when transplanting to givet the roots a better chance at rooting and less energy on flowering???

i'm Growing french lavender in terracotta pots full sun but wondering if for the rainy winter I should move them under a bit of roof cover so they won't be soaked all winter. I'm in Seattle area. Thanks for your videos.

I live in the desert in New Mexico, 🇺🇸. The sun is raging in the summertime 90-100 degrees from 10 am to 6 pm. Is that TOO much sun and heat? I bought a lavender that was yellowing. Other than that it looks great, it's very full. What do I do for it? On top #4 clipping/pinching the buds off. Do you think that will work for salvias and catmint too?

I have same problem in Las Vegas, NV. Julie's tip of trimming off flowers in 1st year, I think, is what I have to do. There are lavender farms there in NM. I visited Los Poblanos in ABQ. Maybe they can help you. 💜

I wish I had viewed your video last year. I planted five bunches of lavender in my backyard and it looked fine for the season. I didn’t cut them until mid April about one third of the length. I watered them twice a day lightly but nothing had happened. The color still brown others plant in my garden already turned green and blooming. I wonder if I done something wrong. I wish I could send you the photo.

Not sure of the brand but it has a 20 year lifespan. It’s dark thick and has green measurements lines woven in. It can be ordered up to 12 foot widths. I prefer 3 ft width and got my last few rolls at my local feed and seed store.

Can a plant in full bloom but splayed by being watering overhead recover? Should I trim it to trim to an inch above the woody stem?

I had about 60 English lavenders split like this after several days of hard rain. They looked like giant birds nests. I trimmed them back as usual in the fall. It took about three years for the center to fill back in.
