@@plantvibrations awesome thank you
Devin. Help!!! I put my dozen amaryllis bulbs outside this summer but forgot to bring them in until late October when we were about to get our first frost. They had very little foliage. Most had died back. As soon as I brought them inside, they all sprouted leaves. I don’t know what to do now! They’ve not had the dark dormant period yet! Should I cut off the new foliage before putting in the dark cool closet? Or leave it? Guess I’ll have Easter/Spring Amaryllis flowers. Do you think they’ll still bloom if I put them in darkness now for 8 weeks?

Let them be! They already went thru dormancy when they naturally lost their leaves outside

@@plantvibrations but they haven’t been in the cool darkness at all! And no sign of Bud stalks on any of them. It’s been 3+ weeks since I brought them in!

Do you put them thru dormancy? They need6-8 weeks of darkness and cool temperatures prior to flowering, typically Sept-Nov
I recently bought 4 new plants from a company (I am in the UK) and as yet show no sign of sprouting. I had 5 of my own that I had dormant and 4 of those have already got leaves, I also bought a supermarket one and that is also showing growth. I am wondering why the new ones are not doing anything. Any ideas before I complain to the company. Saturday the 25th Nov will be about 4 weeks since I potted them up. Thanks

They can take up to 8 weeks to sprout. Give them more time and consider a warmer location

@@plantvibrations Thank you, they are on the window sill and the heating is on so I know they are warm. I can actually feel the pot is warm and they are drying out. I did give them a little water as not sure if they had enough when I planted them. Certainly not as much as you did but then my old ones have sprouted. Anyway thank you and I will give them a bit longer.

Your plant has blossoms but where are the leaves?

Many times they send up flower spikes before foliage

@@plantvibrations Mine send up tall leaves and eventually a mediocre bloom spike. They must need fertilizer or something. Thank you for your reply.
