HOW TO PLAN A TRIP TO PATAGONIA + 1 WEEK PATAGONIA ITINERARY TIPS | Latin America Travel Series 16

Patagonia is HUGE and it can be overwhelming to know how to plan a trip to Patagonia. There are so many amazing things to do in Patagonia in both Argentina and Chile. We only had about a week to visit Patagonia so we are definitely not experts, but hopefully our research can be helpful if you are trying to plan a 1 week Patagonia itinerary as well.
If you are Patagonia trip planning and wondering where to go in Patagonia, we focused on the El Calafate + Chalten area in Argentina and Torres del Paine in Chile. We toured Argentina on our own and in Chile we booked with ChileTour Patagonia (highly recommend them)!
Here are our tips for what to see in Patagonia, including:
- Los Glaciares National Park Fitz Roy Day Trek vs. Torres del Paine day trek to Base of the Towers
- Kayaking at the Perito Moreno Glacier in El Calafate, Argentina
- Boat tour to the Grey Glacier Torres del Paine in Chile
- Where to stay in Torres del Paine + how to maximize your time there if you're not a big hiker
These are our tips for a one week Patagonia itinerary, but obviously the longer you can spend in Patagonia the better! It is such a beautiful place and we would love to visit again someday. There are also so many areas of Patagonia we missed and have added to our bucketlist for the future.

Hi, we’re Hudson & Emily! We’ve been married since 2012 and love Jesus & travel. Our favorite quote is "Think of the stories you want to tell someday, then go out and live them." Our freshman year of college, we decided we’d someday love to travel to the 50 states of America. 7 years later, we bought and renovated an old RV and took off on our trip! 🚌 We're now based in Mexico and are excited to be sharing some memories from our travels!
Can’t thank you enough for watching our videos and subscribing to our channel! We’d love to get to know you and connect with you more!

Thanks for the kind words, and great question! We were there pre-covid but I just checked with the Chile tour company we booked with (ChileTour Patagonia - highly recommend them!!) The FAQ page on their website says that the national parks are currently open and most lodges/camps plan to reopen this November.
