I've never gotten a lightening trigger to work. I tried one called, "Lightening Trigger" and the Pluto and neither worked. One issue with the first had to do with the Sony A7RII having a separate focus and expose wire in the trigger. Unless the focus wire was activated in advance, there would be a several hundred millisecond delay to trigger the exposure. Even fixing this, neither trigger ever worked, both always snapped after the lightening flash was long gone. I just ordered the MK Controls, hopefully it actually works. I have the A7SIII now, hopefully it will get some good shots.

@@RGallucciPhotography Will do thanks! I'm going to be with Brandon Ivey's storm chasing tours 6/18 through 6/24 so hopefully I have a chance to try it. Btw, I also have a MIOPS that I've never had the chance to try so I'll take it along too but it sounds like it may not be a good option. I don't have the Pluto anymore, I got so ticked off at it that I tossed it as far as I could into a field where we setting up for lightening shots.

@@RGallucciPhotography They didn't get off to a good start. The box labeled, "cable for Sony cameras" just had a USB A to mini B cable. This doesn't connect to the device or the camera. It should have been a micro B to a 2.5 mm phono plug. Amazon can only offer a refund but I'll wait until I try it on actual lightening before I decide to return it. I do have the proper cable already. I have tried it with a strobe flash, having it fire off several flashes in front of the camera to see if it will see the flash but so far no luck.

@@RGallucciPhotography I just got off the phone with MK Controls, they're going to get me the contact info for the Amazon vendor so I can get the cable they owe me. They also explained a lot about how these triggers work and gave me a lot of confidence that this one may actually work.
