Great video, Martin. In your experience are the tilt/shift lenses not that good? I've been considering getting one.
@botvidsson

I think they are really great, but at the same time they are very expensive and you have to keep in mind that you stil need to focus stack if you like to have the whole scene in focus. You just need to take a bit fewer images with a T/S lens. So... is the price worth it? Not so sure...

Thanks for tutorial. But it will be better if u show as your lighting scheme from other angle or best from above
@botvidsson

Sorry no time to do a lighting scheme, after all... it's just one flash from above 😉
I would love to see this done with the glossy backed iPhone X. I’m struggling with mine to get a decent result. Also how on earth do you get the screen to stay lit. Mine goes off after about 7 seconds. I’ve set the auto lock to never but it hadn’t made a difference.
@botvidsson

Yes I would love to do that, just need to get hold of one 🤨 Here's how you fix the screen: download.botvidsson.se/screen.PNG

botvidsson many thanks for the reply. That’s exactly what I did and it still goes off. Maybe it’s different for the iPhone X.

Hm, that's strange... google it 😁

I’ve found a workaround. Take a photo of the lock screen then open the photo and the phone display the turns off if you have auto lock set to never.

Thank you for this useful content, I have one question. I get double reflection on the glass is there a way I can eliminate it ( glass is transparent and a little thick maybe 4mm ), is there a special kind of glass or is it a technique. Appreciate your answer in advance
@botvidsson

Yes you can get that with some material. Plexi boards are good to use. I think I use a glass table top from IKEA.

@@GracDonarski This one they don't make anymore, it's called Glasholm. There's a new one but smaller called BESTÅ, 40x60cm www.ikea.com/se/sv/p/besta-toppskiva-glas-svart-20270722/

I've seen a lot of studio photographers talking about how you must have a black frame shot when youre not using the flash. Similar to what you did in 1:17 But I dont understand why thats important and how you get a black frame when theres ambient light already in the room. What if I go down to 1/200 and f8 and the frame is still not black?
@botvidsson
6 жыл бұрын
You need to have a black frame so the ambient light in the room does not effect the shot. You only want to see the light from the flashes/strobes on your subject/item. You don’t want random yellow IKEA spotlights that goes in to your photograph. If you like to use aperture f8 and you still see ambient light in your shot you must turn them off. You should never let the random ambient light dictate what aperture you should use, just turn all lights off. In my case I always have this problem in all my videos because I need to have very powerful LED lights on when I record. That’s why I turn them off just before I take the final shot.
