How to Photograph a Hoodie Using An Invisible/Ghost Mannequin

In this tutorial, we show you how to achieve an invisible man effect when photographing a hoodie. Casual, comfortable, and worn all year round, hoodies are a mainstay of most brands' collections. Yet when photographed on a tabletop, they can sometimes lose their appeal by looking flat and lifeless. So in this fashion product photography tutorial, we will show you how to photograph one using a special ghost mannequin to get an effect as if an invisible man were wearing it.

How do you shoot the same jacket with the hood up...

A technique some stylists use is taking some very fine string and using it to hold the hood up by attaching it to a surface above. If the string is fine enough (think fishing line) it doesn't show up on the camera, or you can easily retouch it away. Hope that helps!

Are you only using 3 LED lights?

Hi Frankie, in the video Pernilla works with our StyleShoots Vertical machine that comes with 5 high-CRI LED panels, two from each side and one from the top. Besides that, there is also a dimmable LED backlight panel integrated into the machine, that enables automatic background removal. Hope this answers your question?
