    I like all of these ideas since I’ve had too much tension in both my hand and upper body. One thing I might add is the goal of great contact for higher level players is the result of having an extended contact point or slot which is achieved if you’re doing everything right from unit turn, separation, load, etc. all of which you’ve covered. A 4.5 in a tennis shop pointed this out to me a few years ago and said he used markers as a visual cue to try to have a longer contact point extending in front. Thanks again Nate!

    Great advice ! It might seem simple, but in my opinion dissecting an analogy (of which so much sports technique instruction is) like “send the hand” into the precise palmed pressure points on the racket handle is very advanced, high-intellect coaching! More of this stuff!

    Personally, I find that I hit the best when my arm & hand are relaxed while swinging - but then I firm up at the point of contact.

    Hi Nate, another amazing video. Shoutouts to the editor; amazing job. Really good topic. Haven't seen this talked about by many coaches. On a side note; back in the day coaches were very adamant about me using the entire surface of my hand (for forehands) on the grip when I was playing in futures. This would improve my classic forehand output in the game. However, after coming back to tennis a few years ago after a big hiatus I have trained myself to hit modern forehands and I am curious about this topic. I see many pros today, including Rafa in your video, who hold the racquet at the very bottom of the handle/grip. Do you guys have any videos on this topic? What is your opinion about this? Is this done to offer more freedom of movement and range of motion for the wrist? Thank you as always for your dedication and continued quality content for tennis players. M

    Excellent video, thank you very much. now I have a question, I know we talk about the tension of the wrist, but this factor can be affected by the type of right backswing that one uses? in my case my backswing is good and managed to better handle the issue of wrist tension in this blow, but in the right it costs me more, mainly I have struggled to develop a backswing that allows me to generate comfort. I take into account the different forehand swings that there are in a professional environment, I take some as a reference, such as Rublev, Thiem, Alcaraz among others, but I would like to know how I can develop the backswing according to my characteristics and allow me not to be uncomfortable and tense when using the right and to be more loose in my forehand.
