Your joy is palpable - and I couldn’t imagine starting a better way to start my morning than watching you makes some colorful patchwork 😍
HI everyone!!!! I hope you're having a great week!
I’m a quilter and I accumulate a lot of scraps from my different projects. It’s overwhelming but after watching your video I’m actually excited to get done with my latest project and hopefully be able to make something coordinating like pillows or a table runner or even pajamas from any left over scraps!

aw that's so lovely!! Thank you for watching & for your encouragement!!
Thank you for making this video, I’ve been sewing for a while but I’m not very good, I get scared of trying new things 🙈 I really don’t know why but I do! It’s nice how you show all the steps and don’t be too strict with how you do it all. My dream is to make something like that beautiful huge patchwork dress you made, I’ve never seen anything as gorgeous in my life! Maybe one day 😂
Thank you for this video! New-ish fan of your page and this is going to help me so much. My mom was an avid quilter and I inherited her sewing supplies so I’m keeping her legacy going by learning to make clothes and someday quilts, too. Learning to patchwork with your video reminds me of my mom putting together squares and triangles of fabric while watching tv to creat incredible masterpieces. I can’t wait to get started. Cheers from the USA!

yesssssss get those sponsors girlllllll
when I am creating my patchwork pieces, I always set down my stitch length to 2 or less, and it prevents unraveling my stitches + it is so pleasing to watch your enthusiasm for patchwork, I love it to 🙂

Love this little guide! I’ve made a couple things with patchwork before but didn’t know any of the terms. Will definitely be looking at a couple quilting books at the op shops. I’m working on finishing some ceramics this week to hopefully get in the community kiln tomorrow or Saturday 😊
You're so positive :) thank you for every video

Love this - so inspiring! I've been patchworking a bit but completely handsewn (because I'm bad luck with a sewing machine :P ). It's such fun!

Crumb quilting is my favorite!!!!! Can you tell me the name of your scissors?
Hi Carly 🦋🌸 This is so helpful! I learned a lot from your video and love all the different ways to patch-work that you covered! I think patch-worked pieces look so dang cool and interesting! Do you find that for patch-working of both small and much larger pieces that it doesn’t matter to have the fabric warp and weft be the same direction from piece to piece? Also are there certain times you find it good to topstitch? Or is that more just for aesthetics? Thank you, friend! 🩷
@fromcarlyb

Thank you lovely human!!! I haven't struggled toooooo much with the fabric warp... but it's a good thing to be aware of when patchworking. I just keep an eye on it & play it by ear!! And the topstitching... usually just for aesthetics... but sometimes I just really want all the overlocked edges to face the right way.. so I topstitch for that reason!
This is so helpful!! I haven’t done much sewing my one of my summer projects is to make a skirt, I’d love to make a patchwork one. Do you find stuff like this washes well in a machine or do you usually hand wash?
@Ray-pt5bi

Depends on the fabric you use. Silk/wool are to wash cold, otherwise Just machine wash normally. Most patchwork Fabric is cotton. Including vintage sheets from the thrift. Totally machine washable

Aw I'm so glad!! That's so exciting - you can do it! I almost always will handwash my patchwork pieces. I think they would hold up just fine in the wash, but I like to take extra care and time with them so they will last a long time!
Do you need to be concerned about the fabric bias being different? That has always been my question with patchwork clothes even though I loooove the look!
@fromcarlyb

I try and make sure I'm not cutting on the bias! I give the fabric a good tug and see which way the grain most likely is... haha but yeah sometimes I break that rule too!! Whatever works ... works!!
Do you have a P.O. box we could send destash pretty cottons for you?
