A reference can very well be of interface List, however the object assigned to the reference can not be. So when you explain around 37:20 that, that code will fail, in truth it will not. However if the example was 'ArrayList arrayList = new List();', that would fail, since in this case the interface is being instantiated as an object (which of course is impossible).

Some things which you have explained were not true as I tried them. I tried 2 examples, which should give an error, but they work at my project. 1. I can declare private non static variable before main() method: no problem at all 2. I tried (mentioned at 37:44) do { System.out.println("hi"); } while (false); and it also works without errors. Anyway it is usefull, thanks
